Preliminary Info: What's new in MU.LAB 2.0:

* Integrated high quality sampler, also featuring key & velocity mapping.
* New integrated synth 'Synthia' : Quick results, fantastic sound!

* Track Targets allow you to set a target plugin per track. You can still use free tracks where each part can have it's own target.
* Drag and drop support e.g. Drop an audio or midi file on the composer, or a bunch of samples onto the multisample editor, etc...
* Reworked audio part system using an unlimited number of locators per audio file.
* Improved editing workflow in many aspects.
* Rack Desk can now be used in docked mode or in windowed mode.
* Enhanced plugin editor windowing.
* Improved multi-monitor support.

* Enhanced modular plugin system.
* Enriched MuSynth oscillator can produce really fat sounds.
* New metronome sound. And fully customizable.
* Extended patch library.
* Optimized VST plugin support.
* Smart plugin bypass system avoids unnecessary cpu load.

* Enhanced MIDI controller mapping.
* Extended Mixdown functionalities e.g. Mixdown to 32bit floats, Mixdown directly into sampler.

i can't find the split at cursor tool in the moment? ( no middle mouse button, no T, and i can't see the icon in the editor ... )
Right-click a part at the split position and choose "Split" ;)
speaking of automation : i ( still? ) can't snap to grid when drawing curves ( or am i missing something?
It's indeed not yet implemented, sorry.

mutools wrote:Note that with MU.LAB 2.0 you can already split up drumloops and play with the individual slices.

You just have to do some manual work, but that also has the advantage you have a lot of control.

Here is how to:

-> Goto File menu -> Add A Sample.
-> Choose a sample (note that each sample ca be previewed, also on the MIDI keyboard).
-> Once loaded, open the sample editor by double-clicking the sample display in Sampla.
-> Right-click in the timebar to add locators, as many as you want.
-> If you're done creating locators, right-click the sample editor background -> Sample -> Create Multisample Using Locators.
I cant' find these commands: -> Sample -> Create Multisample Using Locators.
mutools wrote: -> Now replace the Sampla by a MultiSampla (or just create a new MultiSampla if you want) and choose the new multisample you created in the previous step.

So now each slice is on a separate key and so you can play with the individual slices of your drumloop.
Since I could not find those commands I saved each selection between locators and then I created a Multisample. Then I had to loaded each of those saved Locators/Slices one at the time and assign them to a zone manually.
I understood by your quote that the slices are automatically spread over separate keys.
It sounded kind of semi-Automated process even though you mentioned at the beginning that some manual work is needed. Those commands seems to replace some of the manual steps that I went through but then
mutools wrote:We'll further develop this technology in the future so that (most of) these steps will be automated.

But the good thing is: You can already slice up drumloops in MU.LAB 2.0.
So, are those "-> Sample -> Create Multisample Using Locators" commands already implemented or I'm totally off? :help:

It's in the Sample context menu => right-click a sample.

Or in the Audio Lab, right-click the audio display.

Yes, if you use the "Create MultiSample Using Locators" function.

But also if you drag and drop audio files onto the MultiSample editor.

Hope this helps, else let me know.

Awesome! What the heck is wrong with me.:dog:
I was doing it straight from an Audio file already in the composer.

Thanks.
I hate to waste people's precious time.

(I am migrating tons of work to MULAB including Reason and XT2 in which the MIDI export workaround is a pain...but not for long. You're getting a new customer).

I am just curious to see the way you will implement ReWire in the future.
You have a way of doing things really out of the box!

If you have suggestions about it, let me know!

I had a flash thought about it.

To call a ReWire slave within MUX so to create modular clusters using everything including particular slave's components and than save them as a Patch to be used again within MUX if necessary.
You may want to create a Patch panel with 2 Tabs so to group regular and ReWired patches just in case the slave is not available, one would be able to avoid all kinds of warning dialogs.

It wouldn't be bad either if the ReWire components could be set like in a MultySample setup giving them various splitting zones.

OK now I'm giving numbers....Sorry. :nutter:
