Will ZRev become part of Zebrify?

Once the zebrify plug-in is available, will that make ZRev redundant? or will that get a bit of a facelift too?
I never really understood ZRev's controls much since I haven't seen any documentation, so I don't really know how much overlap there is with the zebra reverb (although I know it's derived from it). So curious if ZRev will basically just merge with Zebrify.
thanks!

As far as I understand the reverb in Zebra is basically fixed settings from ZRev that sound good.
So if you have a really good setting in ZRev (lots of experimenting here!!! there's no other way!) then feel free to mail the setting to Urs, perhaps it will show up in Zebra2. I'm not promising anything here!!!!
Best
Hans

It isn't a secret. There were a couple of threads here...sinkmusic wrote:Where did you heard about that ?R.J.Dubya wrote:Once the zebrify plug-in is available
Zebrify is going to be the fx version of Zebra, and will ship as a free bonus plugin for registered Zebra users from Version 2.5 on
I'm slowly getting back to work after vacation and all, so stay tuned for news
P.S.: ZRev might get a face lift at some point but it won't be part of Zebrify. Zebrify will however inherit Zebra's reverb (which is based on ZRev).

Welcome back Urs, we missed you!
Oh, and take it easy.
P.S. I am kind of assuming that Zebrify will make it possible to get audio input into the grid, so that it would be like an OSC. Will it be so?
If so, it'll be potentially very powerful indeed, if you can add ringmod, FM and whatnot.
Should make up quite a bit for the missing sample osc.

Missed you guys too! Had 5 weeks with only very rare internet access... which admittedly was great...spritex wrote:Welcome back Urs, we missed you!

Yes. It's going to be monophonic (as opposed to polyphonic) though. Therefore it has all modules in a single Grid, including oscs, audio input, filters, reverb, compressors and whatever there isspritex wrote:P.S. Wowow, that Zebrify thingie seems damn yummy !
I didn't noticed any threads about that
So it would have the nice efq, filters and some crazy modulations features ?

(Damn, 3 smileys in a single post...!)

If it means a preset browser and a manual or explanations about what does what, it is a double wowowowoww !P.S.: ZRev might get a face lift at some point but it won't be part of Zebrify.

But there will still be 4 'columns' and 12 'rows' in the grid, like Zebra?Urs wrote: Therefore it has all modules in a single Grid, including oscs, audio input, filters, reverb, compressors and whatever there is![]()

Yep, of course!kodama wrote:But there will still be 4 'columns' and 12 'rows' in the grid, like Zebra?Urs wrote: Therefore it has all modules in a single Grid, including oscs, audio input, filters, reverb, compressors and whatever there is![]()
I'm toying with the idea to decrease the default number of Grid rows in Zebra though, to get more space for the mixer and the mod matrix. Patches would automagically be adjusted to fit into, say, 8 rows - but if they can't or the user chooses so, then more rows would be displayed. Just an idea during the ongoing makeover.

It would also be cool if you could input 2 stereo inputs as separate "oscs", for all kinds of crazy interplay, crossfades and whatnot.
But hmm, do any plugin standards/hosts even support that?
Oh well, at least we'll probably be able to use 2 separate monos somehow.

Yeah, hmmm, dunno... I think too many hosts don't allow for side chaining at all, while some plugin standards are confined to mono side chains.spritex wrote:But hmm, do any plugin standards/hosts even support that?
We'll see how things develop...

Urs
I don't understand what you mean by monophonic in this case. Could you explain?

Hmm hmm, if using a sidechaining effect one would have at least the stereo input from the FX chain (stereo) plus the sidechain (mono or stereo I dunno).Urs wrote:Yeah, hmmm, dunno... Urs
But then it wouldn't be playable from notes.
If used as a sidechaining "instrument" one wouldn't have the FX chain input, only the sidechain.
(I'm just thinking about Logic here.)
Are you going to make it playable from notes, and this is what you mean by monophonic? Because of the nature of the signal flow it would have to be monophonic because obviously it couldn't make the input signal polyphonic.
