I believe her response was a little more specific and detailed than "ouch".
I'm just glad I wasn't the one who left the iron plugged in!

Here's the issue I have with all such things...
Being a member of the ape family, we sadly have no prehensile tales and our feet have long lost the dexterity to do much that's useful. I love an xy pad (One of the reason I use Novation controllers) but let's face it: after one what are you going to use to touch it? Hit a single note/chord and step on a sustain pedal and you're up to two...
I've experimented with the P5 Data glove and had some fun. If I still played with my pals in Big CIty Orchestra (an experimental band) I bet I'd use it a lot, but as it is it becomes cumbersome unless it's the focus of what you're doing. If that is the kind of thing you're after, google P5 Data Glove and you'll see they can be had very cheap and I recommend it.
More and more I find anything but aftertouch and mod wheel and an expression pedal is too much to deal with.

Or record your playing into MIDI and then play that back while tweaking your controller?zerocrossing wrote:Here's the issue I have with all such things...

Duo XY pads, controlling 4 parameters at once... yum.

Psych: unless you have Pressure sensitivity as well, in which case you're controlling 6 parameters with just two xy's
