Are there Midi Files for Bass Guitar in it? I couldn't find anything on the Toontrack site that says so.morelia wrote:I'll be trying the bass midis in EZPlayer Pro.

No. You can use EZPlayer to preview and arrange any kind of midi files, not only drums.kingofthedogs wrote:Are there Midi Files for Bass Guitar in it? I couldn't find anything on the Toontrack site that says so.morelia wrote:I'll be trying the bass midis in EZPlayer Pro.

That sounds really convenient to me. Does EZPlayer Free have the same MIDI previewing?morelia wrote:Bingo!willynanita wrote:No. You can use EZPlayer to preview and arrange any kind of midi files, not only drums.kingofthedogs wrote:Are there Midi Files for Bass Guitar in it? I think I make MP3s of all the loops available online regardless.

Not really. I think only the Pro version will allow you to select different output types. I'm at work right now, but I am pretty sure you can select "melodic content" as an output type, along with Addictive Drums, BFD, GM etc.Gregjazz wrote:That sounds really convenient to me. Little update on CoreGuitar--I've implemented some cool whammy bar stuff, so you can do things like divebombs, stretches, and flutters. It plays really smoothly on the keyboard!
Next up is basically just recording more articulations. Stuff like squeals and louder strike sustained tones and other articulations. It incorporates something I call dynamic mapping, which means that you can enable only the articulations you want to use, and the mapping will adjust to fit your selection.

I'm almost sure you can do it with EZPFree (I did it before I got EZPPro). I used it to preview Scarbee Midi files and it worked.morelia wrote:Not really. Here's a really quick heavy metal demo of CoreGuitar: http://www.orangetreesamples.com/audio/heavymedal.mp3
All the guitars are CoreGuitar, the bass is CoreBass: Cherry Picked, and the drums are Addictive Drums.
The guitar is played in live through the keyboard.

Greg, that really sounds great!Gregjazz wrote:Here's a really quick heavy metal demo of CoreGuitar: http://www.orangetreesamples.com/audio/heavymedal.mp3

the tapping sounds realistic, and the whammy is a fun touch (especially the flutter
played live... wow!
how is the whammy being done ... can you bomb and flutter from every note, or are you just sampling specific whammy phrases (like for example low E dive-bombed to slack)
are you sampling harmonics also (natural or pinch)?
this set must be becoming rather large.
very anxiously awaiting this one.

It's all scripted, so you can flutter or dive on any note.misterg wrote:Greg, that really sounds great!Gregjazz wrote:Here's a really quick heavy metal demo of CoreGuitar: http://www.orangetreesamples.com/audio/heavymedal.mp3

Yeah, I still have a bunch of articulations to sample, so the demos will really improve with more articulations, too. For example, a harder sustain tone with fret buzz. Something I call a "strike" (not sure what the real term is) where you hit the string from a pick fast enough that the string makes a pop sound. Then pure-sounding pinch harmonics, and also dirtier squeals, which will be useful in funk guitar and blues.misterg wrote: are you sampling harmonics also (natural or pinch)?
Actually, since so much of this is scripted, it saves a whole bunch of disk space. Granted, having the round-robin and up/downstroke samples and every string individually sampled makes it take up more space. I'll keep you updated with the library as it progresses.misterg wrote: this set must be becoming rather large.
And for those of you waiting for the bass loop library, its progress is affected by the time I spend working on the CoreGuitar library, but I'm attempting to work on both projects simultaneously.

I put up a quick poll, so you can vote for what sample libraries you'd like in the future:

A little help needed with rendering.
My computer is an AMD2000XP. 1gb, WinXPsp3, Terratec EWX24/96.
I have raised the latency from 7ms to 52ms, muted every plug-in, muted all other tracks and I get the exact same rendered track. There are missing bass parts everywhere. This is with the Picked Bass running in Tracktion 3.048. I have also upped the ram for DFD streaming to over 100mb with no difference at all.

Have you tried messing with the bounce setting in Kontakt? I don't believe that disk streaming is the most reliable way of bouncing, but I could be a bit off on that. But there should be a setting to turn into "bounce" mode.

I'm not sure where to find this bounce setting but I'll check it out. What does it do exactly?koolkeys wrote:Have you tried messing with the bounce setting in Kontakt? Hmmmm, I sometimes have that problem in Sonar with Kontakt libraries--not sure what it is, sometimes it takes another try at bouncing it for it to work correctly. Let me know if you figure out how to solve it in the Kontakt settings; the "Offline (Bounce)" mode is found in the tab "Engine" on the left side of the interface (the "browser" section needs to be on in order to see it).morelia wrote:A little help needed with rendering.
