YEAAAHHHHSSS!!

Is that strum being extended real time? If so you got it ;) :tu: :hail:

the overall strum time is determined at the start of the strum, but there is an acceleration/deceleration parameter that affects the distribution of notes within that time.

currently the strum time can be from 0-3000ms.

the chords and rhythm input can be on the same channel, as long as they use different notes. the strumming only uses four notes at the moment. C and C# are downstrokes, D and D# are upstrokes. i'm going to use the rest of the octave for something else eventually, possibly to pick out individual notes from the chord.

here's how i've been using it:

i'll be working on this more, but go ahead and try it:

one more short demo, again just the XT2 synth, demonstrating some ridiculous strumming:

Not working so far in FL8 and eXT 1.41. I will try Cubase in a bit.

So basically I do not hear anything unless I turn in Chan to anything but 1 or Audition to Yes and there is still absolutly no strumming at all. Any ideas??

hold sustained chords on "In Chan", then play the strum notes (C through D# in the selected octave) on "Strum Chan".

"Audition" is to let you hear the notes while you're forming the chord. it should be turned off when you start strumming.

Ah ok got it. Kind of complicated but it is working now :tu:. Thanks again piz

so, how would i make it less complicated?

as an option i'm going to have it simply strum the input chords as you input them. i could also make it so any note can be used to strum if the strum channel is different from the input channel.

Hrmm I'm thinking it would be a tad (and I say that sparingly) easier if the note used to strum was on the same channel just maybe below the strum octave?

hmmm i don't understand. the strum octave is the note used to strum. i can change the defaults, maybe input and strum both to channel 1, and let the strum notes start at C1... this is how i've been using it to make guitar chords, since that way all the strum notes are lower than a standard-tuned guitar.

i already added a "simple" mode that doesn't need a separate strum trigger note, and i'm working on tempo sync now (so that strum time scales with tempo)...

yes...

thank you!

now i have a request regarding both mdipads and notetoggle.

could you add the toggle-groups?
it will work like groups in the live section of xt1: only one of the pads/notes into a group can be on at a time. this could be particularly useful for many live uses

cc-stepper: it seems that the plug sends unwanted messages at the opening of a project. what is the ultimate version?
as i remember this problem has been discussed...

Sounds awesome! Can't wait to try it out.

new features:
optional tempo sync - use it if you want the strum to be slower when the tempo is slower. when speed is at 0, the indicated note value is how long the strum will take to complete. you can also try moving the strum trigger back by this amount so that the strum ends on the beat.

"simple" mode - chords on the input channel are strummed directly. can be more convenient in some cases. for best results all the notes in the chord should start at exactly the same time.

i also added a little randomness to the note lengths, so they won't all end at the same time. this is increased when Randomness is increased.

it still needs some work, but i like it...

it's possible... i'll have to think about how best to do it. i can see how it would be useful.

well, i'll have to rewrite it, which will hopefully be easy.

i decided to remake the cc stepper. it works about the same but there's no GUI.
