Hey Janke,
I use it the same configuration (assuming you mean 2 gigs of RAM instead of 2 megs) and I find it works. Would I love to have a faster computer so I could do more? Sure. But I can still compose with Omnisphere on the P4.
I posted some performance data on my system so you can get an idea of what your CPU usage might be like earlier in this thread.

With the information about the flexibility with samples and with Eric's commitment to make Omni a long-term platform I'm in. I guess it remains to be seen how much of the library is something I'd want to use as is but I think Omni has the potential to simplify and consolidate my music making process and I like the idea of having a big library of raw audio content to muck around with.

Ummmm....why did Omnisphere arrive...
Without a box?
Anyway how can I get one? I just want it...no Biggie...just want it.
I'll give my opinion of the ACTUAL software later tonight.

I'm not the only one then.neverfall wrote:Ummmm....why did Omnisphere arrive...

.
Mine arrived in a padded envelope, I opened it to discover it was in a bubble wrap envelope. Is it because I have upgraded from Atmosphere?
Or because I'm British?
Eric?
Anyone from Spectrasonics?

Mine came today as well, and I'm very, very happy that there was no box. Let's think

I was also quite happy they didn't do the Giza burial chamber style packaging... you know, the one where deep inside this enormous box there's a small vault containing the dvds.

i never understand this box-hype. Shipping is more expensive, more environ-mental diseases, no more room for the cats and a fight with the dust-bin ... seems, some people want to have a fake christ-mess feeling all year round about ... i tell you: this plug is everywhere, not only for latin lovers and ouzo freaks!polyslax wrote:I was also quite happy they didn't do the Giza burial chamber style packaging... you know, the one where deep inside this enormous box there's a small vault containing the dvds.

Agreed on all points!
@neverfall & Novata, If you want something to display and admire, maybe you could buy a poster, or a T-shirt.

The less there is packaging, printed stuff, or anything physical, the better. I'd even happily download the damn thing and not get any DVDs in mail. Sure, it's 40GB, but if we assume the download servers were up to speed, the whole thing would be here in about 10-11 hours. Much less than the 8 days I have to wait for UPS. Plus, no installing, or at least no DVD switching, and maybe a tree saved. Of course it would cost something to keep the software on a fast enough server, but I don't think that could be much more than all the manufacturing expenses of the physical product (could be wrong on that, I have no idea how much making the boxes and DVDs actually costs
).

It's true. It would have gotten here a bit sooner (Canada), but there was some delay, probably caused last week by the hurricanes or something. Yeah, I've been playing with beta Omnis for months, but my official final version came today.zvenx wrote:Ned Bouhalassa wrote: you only got yours today NED? hmmmmmm
