I havn't said that... but there have been bugs/flaws in Live in timing-specific areas so I wouldn't be surprised if that's related.kuniklo wrote:Urs says this is an Ableton bug
I'll search for possible solutions but I can't say when and if. In fact, the latest beta has a fix for a arpeggiator + sync related problem (short release times would make lfos/msegs go out of sync). Have you tried that?

I'll see if I can reproduce the bug I had earlier with the arp going out of sync. I've used some arp patches in a few other tracks in Live recently and didn't notice a problem.

I think I am seeing this too. I'm using the latest beta AU (070808) and Live 7.0.10.
If for example I use the Kosmeyer patch from Transmission in Live, set up a scene with some long notes (like 4 or 8 bars), and loop the scene which is about 32 bars overall I end up getting drift over time. This patch uses an MSEG for a rhythmic effect, and the first time through the loop it seems to be on but by the second or third time through, if I listen with the metronome Zebra is getting off.
I tested with LFOs and it seems that this occurs there too, although the effect is different, I get a weird skip/glitch/offset around the looping point. With the LFOs there is the gating which seems to help out a lot. Global LFOs seem not to work quite as well, even with sync set to 1 bar.
With the MSEGs or ARPs there is not any option to force a sync every so often so it just drifts.
OK, I just tested this out in Live 6.0.7 and it happens there too. I also tested in Logic 8 and it does NOT happen there. I tried looping a 32 bar segment using Cycle, as well as looping the region for a few hundred bars and it stays synced. So I guess I can do stuff in Logic, but sometimes I like to use Live for working on ideas in the Session view and I've been trying to put some live performance sets together in there which is what brought this issue to my attention in the first place.
This issue makes it really hard to use zebra for pads that have a rhythmic component, I basically have to freeze the track and loop some bounced audio instead of letting the synth run, which of course limits modulation possibilities.
Urs, is this something that you've been able to reproduce? Can I give you any more information that would be helpful to track it down? I'd really appreciate some feedback so that I know what the status of this issue is.
Many thanks, your support is appreciated!

I havn't had much time to look into this after my holiday... there's an enormous number of construction areas so I'm trying to focus on those things that are most urgent (i.e. Filterscape maintenance update, RTAS and Uhbik testing)kahliburke wrote:Urs, is this something that you've been able to reproduce? I'd love to have a Live song/project that exhibits this. I have a little suspicion here (thanks for confirming that it works properly in Logic!), but as I am not a proficient Live user... it's difficult for me to test things properly without having an actual project file to start with...

i use the latest zebra beta in fl studio 8.02 in my latest projects with some arp phrases. there i haven't any timingproblem. i must say i use only short phrases and not play long notes over 1 bar with the arp. i will try this later.Urs wrote:I havn't said that... but there have been bugs/flaws in Live in timing-specific areas so I wouldn't be surprised if that's related.kuniklo wrote:Urs says this is an Ableton bug
