I voted for Sampletank because i thought there was not a T-racks 2 version..
i was wrong..the standalone T-racks version is 2.04..
i think it has to be it..

It HAS to be Sample Tank, because Sample Tank is being left behind by other products, and needs a serious revamp, IMO. And also because a new version mans a new engine, which is the base for new version of lots of other products, like Miroslav Philharmonik, which need to have those new features, like key switching, etc.

Don't know about that - I would have thought IK would have waited on the whole Receptor integration because now people will immediately scream for it to be Receptorized and one can only imagine what kind of time frame we'd be looking at with both IK and Muse bringing their power forces of release delays together as one!

The new IK Total Studio 2 Bundle is already shipping while the Total Workstation 2 is still on preorder. That leads me to believe that the new product will be Sampletank 3. Did I win?

Hmmmmm. Very interesting! By the way, whoever wins will be able to get their prize before the end of next month I'm pretty sure. Others will be able to pre-order it in about a week on www.esoundz.com
I will only say this though... I think everyone will want it because it is useful for every style of music and it sounds fantastic! Great price too relatively. I'll give better hints when we get closer to the 15th. Good luck!

I think sampletank has a grim future personally (as it has evolved until today), I think it's become marginalized and will cease to be at some point. As an engine for specialized instruments it may survive though. Not even Gigasampler survived, I read it's been canceled (for the time being anyway) by Tascam.
T-racks should have a future so I bet on T-racks!

What if SampleTank morphs into StudioPhonik (or vice versa though I don't consider something unreleased able to morph!) and they start rolling in a single interface for things like SampleMoog and SampleTron? I'd like that as long as it didn't cause CPU usage to multiply like X-Gear does for somewhat similar functionality.

I don't think they'd do such a buzzy launch if it was T-racks. A mastering app just doesn't generate that much gearlust compared to a workstation, atleast for most people.
My guess is Sampletank as well, because it still has a large user base and, as previously stated, can't compete with other samplers/romplers on a technical level (though I still find it a charming instrument).
But I dunno, maybe that'd be too obvious?

If it was T-Racks - what would a v. 3 update bring?
IMO it's a pretty complete app as it is, and doesn't really need an update...
So if they did update T-Racks I think it would have to be radically different... maybe several new models of vintage compressors, EQs and limiters making it a more versatile bundle than the current version.
What do you think?

Maybe it would be getting Ozone 4 features in before Ozone 4 is released?bogh wrote:If it was T-Racks - what would a v. 3 update bring?

1+ for Sampletank 3 with disk streaming, a way to create multisamples, and a mod matrix with more modulation sources and destinations. I hope the interface stays the same, however. The Kontakt interface is terrible, given the need to scroll back and forth whenever you need to change an envelope for one of several groups.
The SampleTank interface is instead almost ideal: it lets you create multis and see them stacked on the left side of the screen. Very clean and simple. Please don't change this straightforward arrangement.

Sampletank has been on version 2.whatever for how many years?????!!!!!
Reason got an update before Sampletank did... and that's saying something. Maybe SR or esoundz will allow StudioPhonik to be a cheap croassgrade.
It has to be SampleTank because I don't think no one would REALLY give a f*** if it were any other product actually, I'd be DISAPPOINTED it were anything Besdies Sampletank.
