I'm not gonna beg on hand & knee....but I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY Want Sampletank to be updated! I want to load more sounds in it so it can actually be a "Sample Tank"! More import options, modulation options, streaming, etc. I first purchased ST to be a rompler...but in the past 4 years I've had a hard time trying to fit ST in my workflow cause I it's easier to tweak something with a more heavily supported format. The GUI doesn't bother me, the simplicity of how it looks is why I still use it...just not as much as I used to.
However, I'm used to disappointment....so even though I voted for ST I think it maybe T-Racks will be the new update. People LOVE mastering plugins!

Hmm. Very interesting. Very very interesting! I'll give you a hint but it's not a great hint really since it could apply to most of the choices... some new modeled effects are involved. Now, in all fairness, that doesn't mean it IS an effect plug-in (although it could be). Basically it still could be ST or it could be AT or TR or any of the other plug-ins that have modeled effects in them...
I will add though that it has a model of one of my FAVORITE effects though. But that too is a vague clue since I love good models of vintage effects so... hmmMMmmmmMMmmmmmmm.

OK after sitting on the fence and investigating, I'm thinking' the original TRacks24 came on in 2000 as a stand alone, then the plug-in was around 2001 with enhancements.....SampleTank 1.1 also started life in late 2001/early 2002 and ver2.0 saw life in early 2004. Also with Muse Receptor just being announced as a hardware workstation, it's unlikely that they would put SampleTank 2.5 when ver3.0 is ready. All the clues point to TRacks if you go to IK's site and listen to Squid's clues my vote goes to TRacks 3.0

Perhaps they're integrating Amplitube's FX into Sampletank, ala Kontakt/Guitar Rig. That would be cool.Squids wrote:Hmm. Very interesting. Very very interesting! Here's a fantastic idea :
TRacks integrated into SampleTank. Think about it. High class effects into a ROMpler. An entire range of hardware workstations called "triton" survived because of Korg's boldness to smother excellent effects with their tiny ROM sounds. ST2.5 follows Korg's effects with 5 inserts and 5 masters (triton has 2). Now, give ST's engine Tracks power and you'll have a winner.
SampleTank has GOOD sounds, and with a load of TRacks built it, could smash the competition.
So, thats what SampleTank 4 should be.
