Still cranking away with T2. Produced some local radio shows just this past week using T2.

Actually, the guy I did the shows for just purchased a new small-format 8 ch Mackie mixer with USB connectivity - came with a download version of T3. The whole package was $229 at Sweetwater. For what we are doing - it is a perfect setup. I just hope T3 works well for him.

Yeah me too. T3 solidly turning out live recordings of respected & experimental chamber orchestra. Love the app, I try others but they feel retarded. Still wish they'd finish it though. And I feel for the Mac people who paid for it.

i am aware of bugs in t3, but they are BY FAR nothing to me compared to other audio apps, which workflow is sooo in the way. I personally think things will turn out in our surprise, and that is seriously just a guess, I don't know what is going on, but I haven't lost faith.

Keep in mind that grass is always greener on the other side. To be honest I gave a try to Cubase 4 Essential and it's still the same boring tool I had known before. The main advantage of Tracktion is Tracktion...It's a tool made for musicians first and it works like nothing else.

Well i guess if you only use 10 or so tracks Traction is very usable. Personally I can't use this program at all anymore. I average 40 plus tracks sometimes 100 plus and it simply croaks on me. Darn thing is the most CPU intensive hog I've used to date. I love the damn thing, hated to switch but gotta work with what works for you. Reaper and Cubase 4 handle these tracks without even a hiccup.

Good luck to everyone that is sticking it out. I truly hope Mackie improves on this program. Right now it is light years behind the competition.

That's odd. On my PC, Reaper is way more cpu consumptive than T3...

There is a simple fix for that. I experienced the exact same thing at 1st. A few minor adjustments suggested by the users and Justin and it works flawlessly now. Imagine that, the creator of Reaper actually participates in the forums. What a concept huh?

Hmm I've done a lot of analysis, and have some modes where Synchronous mode can be used and be fast. But in the mean time, try this:

Go to preferences/buffering. Set everything to the defaults or so. Go to advanced.

For disk read mode, use "Asynchronous (unbuffered)".
For buffers, use 3.
For buffer size, use 262144.

Close the window, close preferences, quit reaper and restart.

You should now be able to stream a ridiculous number of tracks without any real issue. If your disk is slower I'd recommend setting prefs/buffering/source material buffer size to something higher, like 2000ms (the default is 600ms).

When Mackie bought it and T2 was little more than T1 with some added light versions of software and very few bug fixes or previously requested features it was fairly obvious that it was over.
Mackie wanted something to bundle with their hardware.
It's now a giveaway. That some people pay for.

Still using T3 and I'm more or less happy with it.
Recently I gave every other host out there a spin.... decided to "really dive into" Sonar..... but gave up after a few days, T3 is still the best solution for me.

I was impressed with Reaper.
If Tracktion becomes outdated and no updates will be issued
Reaper will be the first one on my list.
