If you do with the Jaco fretless anything close to your work with the CoreBass, I'll be overjoyed...
So far, the Jaco fretless is 3rd place in the voting.

I should see if I can contact the private collector to see if I can sample the real bass Jaco used (or rather one of them, which didn't get destroyed). If not, I'll try to get a bass as close as possible to what he used.

The guitar's coming together nicely. Still a few more articulations to go, but it's progressing well. Here's another test demo, played live: http://www.orangetreesamples.com/audio/guitarlead.mp3

This is the info I have. The owner seems to be keeping the bass under wraps, but it's at least theoretically possible that if you contacted Bassplayer magazine they might be able to put you in contact with the owner or at least convey a message to him.
All instruments are artificial

Thanks so much! I will definitely look into this when it comes time to sample the Jaco fretless bass library.

Paul and I have talked about it not long ago, and it looks like it's a "yes". :)

The technology in ManyGuitar 2 will definitely support the things that I've done with this Kontakt library.
As Greg said in this thread, we are working on things for ManyGuitar 2.
It will be a while off yet however. I'm pretty sure if anyone picks up Greg's new sets for Kontakt and we do end up using them in ManyGuitar2, that we would offer a better crossgrade price to MG2 for those owners.

Again - awesome stuff Greg!

great playing (that can't be live... can it :-o ?)

judging by the sound of this, I hope you do decide to sample the neck pickup .

Yup, played live directly into a sound recorder.

Got a request for a pop-oriented demo, so you'll be hearing this guitar clean soon (I realize I've been doing a lot of distortion, but that's just because it's so fun to play).

CoreGuitar: Strawberry is nearing completion, so I thought I'd take the time to make another short demo: http://www.orangetreesamples.com/audio/popguitars.mp3

The lead guitar and background chordal guitar are both CoreGuitar. The bass is CoreBass: Cherry Picked.

And I haven't forgotten the free CoreBass loop library, either. I'm making progress on that as well.

Is there any discount if I buy all your libraries at the same time?

Also That guitar sounds great.

Right now there's a bundle of all the basses available (which gives you a discount): http://www.orangetreesamples.com/index. ... roductId=4

There'll be a discount on the guitar for existing customers as well as new customers--basically a "return customer discount". Let me know if that answers your question, or if you have any more questions/comments.

An official guitar demo: http://www.orangetreesamples.com/audio/ ... -demo2.mp3

(featuring CoreGuitar Strawberry as both the lead and rhythm guitar as well as CoreBass Cherry)

I listened to all your guitar demo mp3s And its pretty rad sounding. Do you have any idea when it will be released? Can I pre-order it?

thanks

I've made a lot of progress over the past few days on the library.

All that's left to do is to finish the manual and a few more demos. (most of the sneak preview demos out there are of outdated versions of the guitar) So I plan on releasing this no later than in one week. As things progress I'll be able to give you a more exact release date.

(all guitars are CoreGuitar Strawberry, and the bass is CoreBass Cherry of course)

A little bit off-topic, but since I'm an official client and KvR is a very comfortable place to tell people to bugger off, I'm confident I can at least ask if you'd ever consider sharing (as in, for money like in a book or digital download) your secrets on building Kontakt libraries. I've been considering creating a ukulele sampleset and you seem to have stringed instruments (that get plucked or plectrumed) down to a fine art. I, on the other hand, haven't got a clue but I'm quite used to scripting and I have an instrument made by a fine luthier.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

I've developed the tricks over many years of sampling. Also, working with Manytone taught me a lot of what I know, too.

While I don't think I'll write an e-book now, it would be very cool to have a book that goes step-by-step on creating sample libraries of different instruments--like the nuances to record, how to record them, etc.
