Hi All,
I have a EMU0404 USB card and want to make the best of its 24bit recording dynamic range (no need to use hardware compressor for vocals then). But it seems that MuLAB 2 stores track recording into 16bit wav only. Provides unlimited version also 24bit tracks or it is planned for further versions?

Another one note:
In Sequence Editor, would be nice if notes are played immediately in time putting them on or moving their position by mouse. (I think e.g. fruityloops has this possibility)

I found MuLAB only recently but like its simplicity. I wonder if it will be possible continuously enhance its possibilities without breaking easy-to-use. Good luck!

True, it's 16 bit only now.

In the coming MU.LAB release version it will be possible to record in 32 bit by adding this line in Settings/Mulab.txt:

AudioRecordingIn32BitFloats=1

In a future version this will be editable in a more user-friendly way, but this is a quick change so you can already use it ;)

MU.LAB 2.0 is planned to be released coming friday 17 october.

If you hold [Alt] you can monitor notes when you click on them, or monitor keys if you click the background.

Automaticly playing the notes when editing them can be annoying, also when having to switch on/off such option.

So MU.LAB uses [Alt]+click = monitor note/key.

That's definitely the intention and challenge!

Thanks mutools,
Seems that in 2.01 32bit recording is working. Is now the whole audio processing "chain" in MU.LAB, including plugins more than 16 bit too? (Except of final Mixdown in free version)

Post

Sure, MU.LAB uses a 32 bit float audio engine.

That's already the case from the very start!

It was only the resulting audio file (recording/mixdown) that was saved as 16 bit.
