we should all just stop discussing/hyping/giving this any attention until a demo is released. there is no point, it's all *heresay* from squidz who is biased even if he is a good fellow and trustworthy and so on.
until a demo happens no one will know truth from hype.
and even then some still wont know wtf it is everyone will be hyped about since we're not 30 years experienced with these legendary things anyway and have thousands at our disposal to A|B them against the real hardware to form any educated conclusion.
*edit* not heresy, heresay. thx darkstar.

Personally I can't see why you guys want to shoot the messenger, Squids. I think he's being proactive on all our behalf. I'm not sticking up for him to kiss his ass for free points or anything but just trying to look at this logically.
If you think T3 Deluxe is too pricey for an upgrade, whining doesn't solve it. It only makes disruption and bad vibes. The smart thing is to go directly to IK and post your reasons in a civil matter as to why you think what your think. If you really feel that passionate about it. Perhaps if enough write IK they might change. on the other hand compare this with other products and you'll see the value in it.
Money is tight for me also especially in the recession we are in. When something new is introduced, a premium price is to be paid. That's the law of marketing and when interest is at it's highest and the company can make a tiny profit because in a few months all the hoopla has subsided and sales go down. That's when companies start to lower the price. Look at Sonar, it's $179.00 for the upgrade if you have the PE edition, $229. for the regular version... no discounts, no memberships, If you look at T3 it's not even the same so the mistake IK made was calling it T3 IMHO. Another name and perhaps no one would complain in a no win situation.

Hmm ...
I'd immediately buy a bundle of opto/fairchild/pultec for 199$ ...
I guess that's a barrier for me right now (for anything plug-in related)...

At Dreamtown Music we own both the 1975 and several BF and UAD plugs. The URS can't really do an effective Fairchild emulation because it was designed to model a certain DBX compressor. The Bomb Factory emulation of the Pultec isn't that great either compared to the UAD one. The only native, lower cost and effective emulations in that area that I've come across are the Nebula ones, though at last count they didn't model either Pultec or Fairchild (but it's hard to keep up).Compyfox wrote:Okay, a Fairchild Emulation (that is possible to pull off with the 1975 compressor from URS) and a Pultec Emulation (Pushtec Anyone? Or one of the many ElectriQ characteristics) - another one among many - these are the only additions I'd consider interesting.
As I said earlier, it will be interesting to hear how they sound and I can tell you that the staff here at WSM would definitely like to review the IK product soon.

Yeah, I can't even deal with it anymore. Only have so much time. But, there is some good news. I got the okay to save you $50 off the crossgrade if you already own T-RackS (even if you didn't buy it from esoundz). However, that's only if you're on this side of the pond unfortunately. But, either way just PM me if you want to get it or email Allen.Reverend Rhythm wrote:I'm with BERFAB: Tuff Crowd!![]()

The other thing I rallied for was a free upgrade to Standard for T-RackS customers who bought it just recently (because they haven't even had a chance to enjoy it yet and there's already a new version). I think that might happen. I might also be able to get you guys a $99 upgrade to Standard from T-Racks if you bought it a while ago... but again that's only in our territory. I cannot promise such things overseas.
Anyway, that's the best that can be done. No group buys, sorry. The only thing I can say to you is that if you can get the Deluxe and have these 5 extra plug-ins for only $250 (not to mention an update to your classic TR from 2 to 3) then if that isn't worth it to you then I'm sorry you don't see the value in what it is. The Deluxe version is specifically for the people that understand the value of a Fairchild and Pultec emulation (even though it is plain to see that if Waves charges $995. for the JJP collection that has only Fairchild and Pultec that there must just be something to the value of such emulations so please consider that).
And that about wraps 'er up. I am in the midst of making hords of I-Map midi files right now so I don't want to disturb the groovy vibe I've got going on right now with the frustration of convincing everyone this is super cool and awesome. If you have doubts, wait for the demo and see. If you're confident in your friendly neighborhood Squids' opinion and/or in the quality of IK products these days then... get in on that pre-order deal and upgrade offer while it lasts!
Good luck! Gotta go make some music (ironically that I'm planning on just giving away for free to all you Studiophonik, Ocean Way Drums and potential Studio ProFiles users! Santa Squids.).

$50 more than that and you can have plus everything else. Pretty darn close!soulata wrote:Hmm ...

That would be cool on the tape saturation. I don't know. I would imagine at least more compressor and eq models are a possibility though. API, Neve and maybe some esoteric stuff too... could be nice! The platform sure looks more like the X-Gear model to ME. But, remember, I am more privy to the SampleTank world than this. I sort of poke my head to find out things but it's all done over in Italy and I just get bits and pieces... not to mention there are things I can say and things I can't. However, I can tell you that I don't know of anything at the moment other than that I've known about TR3 for a little while and have been biting my tongue (not to mention I've been anticipating it to use on my own music which I am starting to do now with the beta or alpha I guess and so far so good! No crashes).K-Slash wrote:Squids?
Do you know if with the new SCC technology they are going to model new hardwares like tape machines, preamps, and so on, to create new plugins and sell them as expansion for T-RackS 3 ?
For example :
T-RackS 3 - Vintage Saturators Collection
T-RackS 3 - Vintage Equalizers Collection
T-RackS 3 - Vintage Compressors Collection
That would be AWESOME!

It's a relief when I see people "get it". Yeah man. I know. I DID just get another UAD card. But it's still in one machine. I have 4. I know that's more than most people do but I am all over the place and I also travel a lot. TR3 is perfect for that. I still like my UAD but this is good even if you have a UAD. Plus I haven't spent enough time with the other effects yet but they sound pretty darn good too! The Brick Wall limiter is REALLY cool and that Opto-Compressor is smooooooooooth. I am really starting to like the new analog modeling that's being done. It's getting better. I still love the real thing and probably always will but... I get excited when it gets closer in the digital world because it means that I can have that warm and punchy sound more often is all.tronholic wrote:Hi,
I had several reasons to guess this right, but I did not won and I did not vote here either.![]()
Now I'm seriously excited about the Fairchild model in the T-RackS 3.
If IK Multimedia has truly captured the harmonic generating behaviour without sounding papery thin,2D,grainy and harsh,it will be the winner!
Bring the seriously thick sounding lower mids and phenomenal presence, bring the FUNK!
I can't justify adding another UAD card into the system and upgrading
PSU (smelly and expensive bastards). And all the grief and sleepless nights
UAD plugs have caused in Samplitude system.Redemption, hallelujah(plays some gospel on organ)!
See ya!
Okay... back to my grooving... see? I can't resist. Right when I'm out they pull me back in! Name the movie first and get $5 in epointz btw.

not shooting the messenger at all, i've absolutely no beef with squidz. he's the entire reason i own so many great IK products because of his past generous efforts with GBs.hydemusic wrote:Personally I can't see why you guys want to shoot the messenger, Squids. squidz however is the only convenient feed into IK - he's the liason sorta for the forum no?
anyway, it's no harm no foul. esoundz is a great company, squidz is a great cat, and i'm sure this product is going to be great... i just wont be participating because of personal reasons. no big deal, i just wanted to voice my concern to someone who seemingly has the attention of an ear up the ladder about the crossgrade/upgrade stuff.
that said, i'm out of the thread. not trying to be a downer or annoyance.

I just read about the release of T Racks 3. I'm very excited!! I'm currently tracking a project. I'm a long way from mixing and "mastering" it (I know, some purists cringe at the thought of a home studio owner throwing an EQ, a compressor and a limiter on his mix and calling it "mastering"
). Perhaps further along in the project I will consider it. And if there's a chance to pick it up at a discount I will certainly consider it. I took advantage of the 2-for-1 promotion of summer 2006 to get Ampeg SVX and CSR, and I'm extremely pleased with both! I was already a SampleTank 2.x, Sonik Synth 2 and Amplitube 2 owner, and I've been using those a lot also.
Even at the regular crossgrade price, it's pretty reasonable compared to what other recording software companies are charging for Pultec and Fairchild emulations. It means a little less to me since to me it does not have to be that sound, just a great sound.
Keep the good stuff coming, IK/sonic reality!
