I was unable to find anyway to do the following so I will assume these have yet to be implemented.

[Loop Brackets within the Composer]

1. Copy/paste parts within loop brackets by right clicking on the end loop bracket and selecting option. It's easier this way. Keystrokes of course would also be nice.

2. In regards to pasting to a new location, one has the option to

a) Paste and replace at the paste point (so the copied parts replaces any parts situated at the paste point)
b) Paste and add parts at the paste point (so the copied parts are *added* at the paste point shifting any parts at the paste point further down along the timeline)

3. Duplicate parts within loop brackets. Basically, this is just an easy and really quick way to add parts along the timeline w/o having to shift any other parts farther down the timeline. With a keystroke, this works really well for workflow.

4. Delete time within loop brackets. So along with the parts within the loop brackets getting deleted, all other parts to the right of the end loop bracket shift back in the timeline.

5. Delete parts within loop brackets. So the parts within the loop brackets get deleted but the parts to the right of the end loop bracket remain situated.

[Racks]

1. Unlimited slots within each rack

2. Ability to add multiple synths within a rack for synth layering. I notice if i add more than one synth, one of them gets canceled out.

**In regards to the second request for the Racks, an alternative would be to have the ability to assign tracks/parts to multiple racks. This way, i can have one part assigned to two racks with different synths.

Those first five sound a bit alien...

If you've a part that contains a four bar sequence, which repeats four times:
..S.|....|.E..|....
and you've got the loop start and end markers in bars three and 10 respectively (S & E as marked), what do you expect to happen if you "delete time"? The sequence within the parts might be used elsewhere, too, of course, even overlapping the looped region but with a different offset.

With respect to Racks, you can use a MUX to get unlimited everything, pretty much, including layering, I think. See also the modular plugin area for more unstructured fun.

Ah yes, forgot about the modular area. It does allow for synth layering but it would be easier if each rack had the capability to do it by loading the instruments in the slots. It makes for better workflow IMO. No biggie though.

The Mux appears to be just a multi effect device.

As far as the "Alien 5" I am probably explaining a bit roughly. I'll probably post up some images as examples when I get out of lazy mode. Or one best way to get a feel for what I am speaking about is give Ableton Live's arrangement view a whirl. It's extremely easy and has great workflow in regards to options for parts within the loop marker.

The MUX can be anything and everything - I was underestimating it too to begin with. You can chain, patch, layer any synth and any effect you like to create novel effects and instruments. You could easily mix a little song in it and send it all to Rack 1. It's pretty nifty at that :D

I MUST be missing something here. How are you utilizing it in the way described?
When I load it onto a slot and open the GUI, I see the only options are to load presets in which the parameters for that specific preset can be tweaked, but that's about it.

What you first see is the PLAY editor of the MUX.

It's like an easy front panel of a finished patch.

For the real / deep work, switch to the DEEP editor.

This is done by pressing [Tab] or via Options -> Switch To Deep Editor.

There you have almost unlimited possibilities, including layering synths ;)

It's all possible now, you just have to do it in 2 steps.

If you would want to do it in 1 step, then i think it would lead to a kind of macro scripting so to combine multiple operations into a single operation. But that's not immediately planned, because we'll focus on other developments, e.g. on a key shortcut system.
4. Delete time within loop brackets. So along with the parts within the loop brackets getting deleted, all other parts to the right of the end loop bracket shift back in the timeline.
That's on the whishlist. Together with the opposite "Insert Time".
5. Delete parts within loop brackets. So the parts within the loop brackets get deleted but the parts to the right of the end loop bracket remain situated.
Just select them and press [Delete].
Unlimited slots within each rack
Indeed the MUX is the solution here.

Plugin a MUX in a rack slot, and you can do almost anything within that slot.
Ability to add multiple synths within a rack for synth layering. I notice if i add more than one synth, one of them gets canceled out.

Same tip: Plugin a MUX.

Hope this helps.

Ah. Thanks! Very cool!

Key shortcuts are the main request for best workflow. IE:

5. Delete parts within loop brackets. So the parts within the loop brackets get deleted but the parts to the right of the end loop bracket remain situated.
Just select them and press [Delete].
Instead of having to select them, have a key shortcut set to delete parts within the loop points. I know it's a small request but it does save a bit of time, especially if you have a lot of tracks. I mentioned also right clicking on the end loop bracket which would have the option available there as well.

I feel all functions for looped parts should be made available via right clicking on the end loop bracket as well as having key strokes (shortcuts).

Thanks for the responses! Liking the program :-)

The problem is that the loop points may not be on part boundaries.

Should MU.LAB split the parts at the loop start and end marks? Should it then proceed to create new parts/sequences for the content between the loop start and end marks so that it can be operated on independently of the content outside? That's (a) quite a lot for a shortcut and (b) what I termed "alien"... Although now I've explained it to myself like that, I'd be comfortable knowing nothing outside the loop area was being affected...

Might as well go here....

I've got a Logitech mouse. Should the wheel be able to scroll the Piano Roll up/down?

I'd like it to.

Yes, it should work.

Are you on OSX or Windows?

If on OSX, then you might have to check your OSX preferences.

[and i bet you thought you'd get a bit of a holiday now...]

i might as well add this to the mux:
the zoom seems a bit random? it is a shame it doesn't automatically hone in on the part i have selected... or on the loop points or summat?
wee have also sound-houses

It's OSX 10.5.5 The scroll wheel works in Safari and most other programs/games for instance.

I just had a look at System Preferences. In Keyboard & Mouse control panel everything looks "normal".

I learned about zoom with ^control. That works!

Surprised to be the only one missing mouse-wheel scrolling. It's not a "biggie" though.

I'm agree with S.HUSH requests, there's a lack of features in the Composer.
What you often do is to insert new bars, duplicate or shift whole portions of a song, and so on...

But I have another request for the Sampla : you can set the point from where the sample will be played, but this point is not automatable.
It will be great to be able to do this, because this way you can do some kind of "grainable pitch shifting". This is possible with Highlife or Shortcircuit...

I noticed that MU synth and MUX has deep editor possibilities for chain/patch and layer a sound or a effect
Examples ?

Can you explain what you mean with ;
