Direct Install on a Mac - help pls

Well,

After authorizing Akoustic Piano through the NI service centre, I proceeded with the installation of Akoustic Piano, but have now come across a stumbling block:

The installer won't see that I've got Disk 2 in my mac. I think there's some wierd stuff going on as I had to find the WIndows Installer in the "Begin Installation" dialog before anything could work.

So, how do I get Receptor/Direct Install to see that I have the Windows CD Disk 2 inserted in my Mac? This could me a mac related thing, but surely I can't be the only Mac user here...

Thanks for your help - it sure has been frustrating so far.

Ken, any response (private) from Muse yet? I have a similar problem trying to Direct Install Addictive Drums; DI says it doesn't see my install disk, or, sometimes, that it's the "wrong one". I'm using a Mac too, and it sure seems I have all my System Preferences>Sharing controls set properly. I don't know what else to try.

????

It does test your patience, doesn't it?

Hi there,

It did indeed test my patience.

Sorry to report that my work-around was to install Parallels Desktop and run Windows on my Mac Pro...and had some luck with that. I was able to install Akoustic Piano after that. Or else you will have to find an old PC lying around to install your stuff first before using with your mac. Direct Install is just not working with macs.

(In the end, I ended up selling the unit at a loss...)

Sorry to not be able to help

I think you'll have this problem if your ethernet/internet settings are not correct...the Receptor is not able to connect to the internet. Check the Help option in Direct Install to make sure you have done the steps outlined there...I think you have to do that first.

Hope that helps,
