So is there still a MuLab free? After the 2.0 release there's no mention of the free version so I was wondering about that.

you can download from the site the free version, working but with the limit of 6 tracks... then you can purchase the licence to unlimited version

Yep, MU.LAB Free is alive and kicking:

http://www.mutools.com/downloads.html
You can unlock MU.LAB Free to MU.LAB Unlimited with a MU.LAB Key available in the MUTOOLS Shop
Purchasing a MU.LAB Key gives you MU.LAB Unlimited and it's at the same time your explicit support in enabling MU.LAB to grow!

Jo, your English is very good so much of the time, it does make me smile when you write something like that:
"letting grow MU.LAB" (passive) -> "enabling MU.LAB to grow" (active)

"letting grow MU.LAB" (passive) -> "enabling MU.LAB to grow" (active)

Hummm now 6 tracks....why the scaling down? Is MuLab free to lose 2 tracks with every version?

The new version is a lot more stable & functionnal that the last one I've tried (I think it was 1.2). The GUI is better & the VST plugins handling is a lot better. I need to test it further before deciding if I'm going to keep it or not. Thanks for the free version!

The original had four tracks and a restriction on racks, IIRC.
Six tracks -- with no restriction on how many parts you can have in one place -- and no restriction on racks is hardly any restriction at all. And the price... You want Jo to pay you to use it?

No definitely not.Gothboy wrote:Hummm now 6 tracks....why the scaling down? Is MuLab free to lose 2 tracks with every version?
But if you really want more tracks, please consider purchasing a MU.LAB Unlimited Key.
Note that without sales, MUTOOLS / MU.LAB won't survive.
I'm convinced 49 EUR is a very reasonable price. Agreed?

Totally in agreement...and let me say that MuLab keeps getting better so my congrats on that.mutools wrote:Note that without sales, MUTOOLS / MU.LAB won't survive.

However..... both MuLab V1 and Luna free both gave 8 tracks. I know because I have both here and just checked.

I guess every user of MULAB Free is a potential purchaser. When they think, "Oh, I'd like it even more if it did this", I bet they suddenly feel like buying!
