Two USB controllers?

My Receptor is a Pro Rev.1, System 1.7.20071116.
When I connect two usb controllers (M-Audio Keystation 61es, korg Nanokontrol), startup fails.
Both controllers work fine when they're plugged in one at a time.
Is it possible to connect two usb controllers at all?

thanks

Have you tried running the MIDI Out from the keystation into the Korg NanoKontrol's MIDI in and just using the Korg's USB? You might have to set the keystation to a different channel depending upon what you're trying to do, but that should work.

EDIT: My bad, neither the keystation or the nanokontrol have midi inputs. Have you contacted MUSE to see if they can offer any solutions?

Hi Lotsakeys,

Receptor's USB implementation only allows for one USB controller to be connected. You can use a Midi Keyboard and a USB controller at the same time. You can also support multiple keyboards via MIDI by using a MIDI Merge device.

Wow, I feel ++stupid. Run the keystation's MIDI out into the receptor's MIDI in and use the nanokontrol's USB port.

Thanks for the answers.
Well I guess it's good news, at least I know my receptor is not malfunctioning.
It would be nice though to be able to use more than one usb controller

I use two controllers, and I just spent $200 on another controller just to eliminate MIDI cables and use bus power. But it has not arrived yet. I'm hoping I can send it back. There is more than one USB port on the Receptor. Why can't I connect two keyboards? This is not explicitly stated in the documentation. Will this be available in the next update?

But this explains why the Receptor does not work with the MIDI IN from Axiom Keyboards. Axiom keyboards create two USB devices when you plug them in. One for the keyboard, and one as MIDI IN/OUT device. The second one does not work.

Hi Jacq,

Having 'hardware' USB ports available is not the same as having the software and drivers to support multiple MIDI devices on those USB ports. The drivers need to be written in a way to support and differentiate multiple devices on the USB bus.

Having bus-powered controllers does seem desirable (from a convenience perspective), so I would think this is a good wishlist item to request from MUSE.

PS. I think I might have requested this when I first got my Receptor (3-4 years ago)
