Looks interesting. What synthesis methods does it use?

FM, AM, Subtractive... others? I forget - it's been a while since I tested it.

Isn't it obvious? Photosynthesis.aMUSEd wrote:Looks interesting. What synthesis methods does it use?
Glad to see it out at last. Had great fun playing with it during my little spell of testing.*

I have to agree that microtonic and Synplant are quite the couple... the good news is that if you already own microtonic, then you can get 25% off the purchase price of Synplant.
It should also be noted that you can get many drum sounds from Synplant, wich makes this guy a very versatile device.
I hope who ever tries this spends time to get to know it, because this is an extremely powerful synth.

This is arguably the most imaginative plugin of the year. Probably still will own the title in the next few years as well. Yet another amazing plugin crafted by the one and only Magnus. Great, great job, man.

Not just drum sounds, but whole kits! That, to me is the beauty of this beastie. Yeah, I'm another beta tester who loves this thing. While I didn't have as much time as I would have liked to dig under the hood while it was going on, I've spent some time working with it since the RCs were released and oh, boy. Difinitely unique in approach and concept.elxicano wrote:It should also be noted that you can get many drum sounds from Synplant, wich makes this guy a very versatile device.

The ease with which you can come up with new sounds and give them motion. It breaks down the wall between performer and sound designer.shamann wrote:In what way?elxicano wrote:this is an extremely powerful synth
A couple of suggestions for people evaluating this thing:
* Don't start out with a destination in mind. Relinquish some control in exchange for serendipities.
* The onboard effects can be useful but be sure to do some of your own processing.
* Be sure to *play* it. The mod wheel can do crazy things so play it or automate it to bring Synplant to life.

Yeah, this and soon Alchemy...wow! A great year for new instruments...there was this 40 gig what's-it-called...oh, nevermind, it wasn't that important.GermanFafian wrote:Between this, Alchemy and the hardware for my new guitar build. My credit card will bust out on me once again!

Synplant is great. Big sound, big ideas, and I gotta love a synth that gives undo/redo buttons a prominent spot on the GUI for a good and fun reason. You make 10 or 12 great sounds while on your way to making the one you intended to make...love it.
I love the mod wheel variations, and I love the detailed variation you can do with placing the seeds in different places for different notes if your mod wheel skills suck while playing.
And if the main GUI tweaking wasn't already good enough for creating sounds, manipulating the genes takes it to a whole new level...
It is a great synth.
