I get a low frequency noise comming from all my instances of sylenth when i loop in Cubase or live. I thought this was a host problem but it is only Sylenth that is doing it and only when looping. Everything plays back fine but after looping its like sylenth hangs on teh last note and that humms on in the background.

Am i the only one having this?

No humming here. Is it a certain preset that causes it or does it happen with all presets? Are you using the latest version of Sylenth1? Are you sure your Midi keyboard isn't sending the humming note?

It is all presets. In my last tune i had 4 tracks playing sylenth and all produced the humming with different sounds. As far as i know i have the latest version of sylenth and it's not my midi keyboard causing it.

I have uploaded an example here: www.frankhoekzemagolf.nl/1.mp3

This is a bass playing which i have looped for a few beats and then it junps back to 4 beats prior to where the bass is playing. This is just one of the channels but i could bounce all 4 and let you hear if you wanted to.

Sounds like a stuck note to me. You can check if there are still any voices running by the Voices indicator. Maybe your sustain pedal is messing things up?

What OS are you using btw?

I am using XP professional Dutch. I have a Packard Bell with Q6600 processor. 2 GB Ram and a Novation NIO external soundcard. I did not play these notes in with the keyboard. I edited them in via the piano roll.

Yes, but still, if your midi keyboard for example is sending a midi sustain pedal message then it WILL hold notes. Does this still happen when you insert Sylenth1 in an empty project with your midi keyboard not connected? Does it only happen when you are using loops? Does it happen with a simple standalone VST host like http://www.hermannseib.com/english/savihost.htm ?

It does allso do it on all presets i have checked in a new project. It only seems to do it though if i have a note running until the stop where i have set the loop point. If i set the track to loop just after a midi note finished it doesnt sustain the note.

It does indeed seem lie it is simply sustaining the notes if they are located right before the loop point. This is the only occasion where it seems to happen. Just happens to be most of the tracks have midi running till before the loop point.

I honestly don't know how to change this behaviour in Live . Switching off my midi keyboard makes no difference.

I see, so it seems to miss the note-off message at the looping point. There was a similar problem in Sylenth1 v2.0, that was fixed in v2.01, so can you please click the MENU button on the LCD screen and select "Check for updates" to see if you really got the latest version?

By the way, does this happen in both Live and Cubase?

Ok sorry for the delay. I have definately got the latest update.

I have rechecked in cubase and i now do not have the same problem if i start a fresh project. I did have it in my last full project but it could well be that i had the older version installed then.

So right now it is only in Live that i am having the problem when looping.

I can't reproduce the problem you described though. Can you send me a simple Live arrangement that shows the problem and tell me exactly what to do to reproduce it?

Ok Lennard. I noticed that Live was still running on 7.03 so i updated it. That actually didnt solve the problem. It just made it worse as now it seems to happen with every synth i have.

Here is an example project running just Sylenth. You just need to play this and let it loop back to the start by itself. Once it reaches the end of the midi clip and loops back to the start of the tune i get a humm.

Thanks, that helps a lot! I've located the problem. Will be fixed with the upcoming 2.2 release.
