Automated Curves in Tracktion

I'm learning how to use multis (SampleTank) in Tracktion. It has made a huge difference in how Tracktion performs and it makes for a nice tidy and flexible edit. However, there is one issue that I haven't figured out how to solve.

I'll talk about the tune I'm working on now. It uses one SampleTank multi (the same multi on every track) with 9 instruments and I am using automated curves from the master controller list. It's a pretty convenient way to do mixes and other nuances. (a note and perhaps a tip: I like the SampleTank sample player and I strongly dislike the Kontact sample player. If there is a GPO instrument that I really want to use, I have found it worth the while to use Tracktion to create a sample that can be imported into SampleTank).

In this particular tune, I started with the final part of the tune and I needed to move that part over so that i could make room for the preceding part. It was no problem to move the clips, but even with auto-lock turned on, it left all my automated curves behind. The Tracktion manual says that the automated curve belongs to the filter that is on a particular track. In this case, any filters I am using exist inside a rack along with the intrument that it goes with.

Is there any way that I can connect the curve with the instrument in such a way that it will move when the clip moves?

The problem can be worked around by copying and pasting the curve to the new position, but this is a little cumbersome.

Hi
Tracktion 3 has a tutorial cd, perhaps you can find the answer there ?
This forum is for MULAB so there are not so many traction users here.

After reading again..
Why moving existing tracks ? .. why not insert a empty track between existing tracks
The order of the tracks can i think easy changed ...by dragging ( not copy $paste )so when you make a new list with tracks in the arrange window in the right order and insert or ad a new track.

Also a fantastic program tracktion and works also with racks like MULAB
A good control about the automation parameters for VSTI ..because tracktion automatically assigns the parameter to automate.. than you can stay on one track and choose one for one the parameter to automate
Or create seperate automation tracks and handy is als to drag a automatation from one track to a other track as i can see it now

Well, that's kind of embarrassing. I wasn't able to find a forum where I could expect to find other Tracktion users, so I took a stab.

Actually, it's not the tracks that I'm wanting to move. Like you said, that's really easy. It's the clips that I am moving around. I needed to move the last part of my tune over to the right so that I would have room to put down some music ahead of it.

Thanks for responding. I'll keep looking for a forum more appropriate to Tracktion.

Ok clips of a track... well insert a new clip befor a existing clip via using locators and paste between the locators ( by inverting the the clippart what is between the locators) and paste a new clip

i am not sure about this, but it could be a general approach to copy/paste clips between tracks
