I can relate to that. I play a cheap Yamaha RBX250 Bass for more than 15 years now. The PU is replaced by a DiMarzio Split-P, The Bridge is a massive one from Gotoh and it's even got a GK MidiPickup installed. I often considered buying another bass but I ended up thinking 'why?'. It's got a very solid rock tone (I used to play indie/alternative), it never detunes (even over weeks), no dead spots, and is well-crafted. Thanks for that, thought it was higher than that since audiomidi usually kicks butt and even here it sold 2nd hand for not much less than that very recently!
