Do you think a machine with the Intel Atom (N270) Processor can run MU.LAB OK?

My machine is:
Advent 4211
Windows(R) XP Home
1GB Memory & 80 GB HDD

I've spent years looking for the right DAW (MU.LAB is awesome). I wanted to complete my 'portable' set up with a small laptop (this is the most up-to-date machine I have EVER purchased) :o(

When I play the demo songs it causes the meter to overload (including drop-outs, pauses, crackle etc.).
PS. I have tuned XP to run really lite (using advice from recognised sources on the web).
PPS. My set includes the M-Audio Transit USB audio interface.

It's a slower CPU than my five year old AMD Athlon XP2800 (2.088GHz) and you've half the RAM I have. I can't find the USB specs for the Advent 4211 machine but I'd suggest checking the ASIO buffer size and increasing it until the spikes go away. The M-Audio Transit also doesn't seem to have much in the way of specs, so I wouldn't expect it to perform particularly well but it shouldn't be the source of any problems here.

(The demo song isn't particularly lightweight - it's demo-ing the synth features, which do chew CPU.)

The MU.LAB demo tune eats my Mac G4 for breakfast! Zero problems on my Mac Mini though - I reckon you're underspecced.
