Problem using Novation Nocturn with Zebralette

Hi,

I am trying to set up Zebralette with Nocturn (using the Automap wrapper)
When I change a preset the Nocturn doesn't know about the parameter changes, so when I turn a knob I have a value jump (same with Zebra2). It does work with other VSTs, also after the first start correct values are shown.
Does anyone have a clue on that?

*** update ***

Novation support is very responsive, it's not a problem of my setup - Automap2 &Zebralette have a problem with each other ...

what about Zebra, is it ok ?

To be precise, no parameter update with a mag version of Zebralette and the Zebra 2 demo. There seems to be something strange about zebras parameter handling.

Are you aware of the parameter in the Automap server software that switches between three knob mode values: Jump, Pickup and Scaling?

I don't know about the Nocturn, but it's in Automap2 software using automap wrappers in Cubase

bagginz :D

I have no idea how this stuff works. I assume they have a wrapper between plugin and host?

Do they expect a plugin to automate all of its parameters on a patch change? As if it wasn't enough to send a message that a patch change has happened?

I will not implement anything like that as a default behaviour because it'll seriously slow down the patch change process (for those who ever wondered why the AU sometimes gets "stuck" during patch changes).

I suppose it'd be best to ask Novation to react on patch changes rather than just parameter automation as plugins with complex presets ("chunks") are not required to set each parameter one by one... (it would actually surprise me if others do...)

Thanks for input, but: for the slider there is a pot pickup option, but that is not the problem. The LED rings around the encoders should equal the VST ...
btw I am using Tracktion.

Seems to work fine in KORE 2 - the knobs jump to the right positions when patches change. I've been working on a Zebralette KORE template - I'll upload when I get it finished.

The only thing that doesn't work in KORE 2 (same with Zebra) is the morphing grid.

Yes it's a wrapper, it doubles all selected VSTs, looks like
Zebralette
Zebralette (automap)
In the sequencer one has to choose the automapped VST (I never had that many VSTs). It's not that elegant ...

I don't think so, as it eg works with NI plugins and all freeware stuff I tried. Also it feels like proper code - fast startup, no lags yet. I guess Novation will contact you.

Have you seen that the latest V2.3 release candidate installs a custom parameter list, adjusted to the parameter set of V2.2? - Do the templates work as expected now?

Thanks - I'll try it later.

OK here's a template for Zebralette for KORE:

http://www.fingermarks.co.uk/music/Zebralette.ksd

made with version 1 so should work in both versions and comes with a nice patch by me :)

This is made with the version that comes with Zebra 2 but afaik it's identical to the free CM/Magware version.

I made wavwarp the very first knob because I love using Kore to sweep the wavetable :)

(Not tried Zebra 2.3 yet - have to dl it first)
