Does anyone here run Addictive drums on the receptor? How does it compare to Superior 1.5? I am getting very impatient with the lack of support of Superior 2.0 in the receptor. I have been trying to hold out for the upgrade because the price is very reasonable I think BUT.....

I can not find many users of Addictive drums to see if it is a good direction to go. I really like what I see and hear about Superior 2.0, but if I can't get it for the receptor I don't want it.

Thank you for your replies

Travis, I think there are some folks using Windows PCs running AD on Receptor, but right now you can't install it with a Mac, as I mentioned here. http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... highlight= Apparently Direct Install worked with Addictive Drums for version 1.0, but it doesn't for version 1.1.1. Unfortunately, 1.1.1 comes on a disk that's marked 1.0! I'm not sure if this failure to install 1.1.1 affects both Mac and PC's, but Macs for sure.

You could also pose the question over at XLN Audio's forum.

Hope this wasn't too confusing.

BTW, I also have Superior 2.0, which doesn't load on the Receptor. Aaaarrgh! :D I wish at least ONE of those was installable.

Thank you for your reply Batgab. I am thinking about getting Addictive drums anyway. I would like to know your thoughts on the subject. How does it compare to Superior 1.5 sound-wise? Have you talked to other people who use it?

I reallllly want Superior 2.0 but I am not well versed on the computer(ie:Latency issues). I have spent too much money on the receptor so I am really committed to making it work.

If you RECEPTOR guys are listening, PLEASE get 2.0 going on the receptor.

Okay, we heard you. I had a meeting with Andreas from Toontrack and he is sending over a 2.0 for us to work on. We're hoping we can get it installed using Direct Install.

In the meantime, I have used Addictive Drums on Receptor on several gigs this year, and it is pretty darn impressive. I personally love ALL drum software, and find that they all have their strengths and weaknesses, but in terms of efficiency, AD is nothing short of amazing... I can run it at 32 samples of buffer latency... we're talkin' crazy fast.

That being said, we want to get both Superior 2.0 (which I hear is incredibly) as well as BFD 2.0 (which I know is amazing) working on Receptor as soon as we can... and don't forget Ocean Way Drums as well! Hopefully we'll have something to show at the NAMM show.

All the best

Yes!!! Thank you!! And what a surprise - Ocean Way too! That would be AWESOME! (I never even bothered asking about that one, figuring "no way" that was gonna happen!)

Thanks for the great news!

I use AD on the Receptor, and I love it. Can we get an install path for adding the AD Retro Pak? It's a killer add-on with more great kits.
