I have Zebra 2.2 installed on my computer (Win XP + Cubase) currently. The data files are installed under "Program Files\u-he" and the dll files are under "Steinberg\VstPlugins\Zebra2". I also have Transmission with different files installed under different directories under "Program Files\u-he".

Now I want to upgrade to Zebra 2.3 and I can't figure out how to go about it. If I run the full installer it seems like Zebra 2.3 will install everything under the directory I choose. This will not upgrade the 2.2 installation but install 2.3 in parallel I guess. The pre-install package seems like a better option somehow, but the directories in that zip file don't correspond to the ones in my 2.2 installation.

So, how do I best perform this upgrade? Uninstall Zebra 2.2 totally first and then install 2.3 from scratch (+ add Transmission again)? Any directories I should back up first in that case e.g. to avoid registration problems?

Thanks for helping Krim! So in my case, I should use the full installer, but point out which directory as install directory? "Program Files\u-he" or "Steinberg\VstPlugins\Zebra2"?

Post

yes, i juts installed in the same folders the older versions were in (with the installer, all plugs etc) you know what i mean

in my case

Programs\U-he and
Orion\VST Instruments\U-He

the .dll is in the vst folder, all the data/presets/skins etc is in the prog folder

Yep that worked, as far as I can tell. I choose "Program File/u-he" as installation directory, then manually moved the dlls it installed under there to "Steinberg\VstPlugins\Zebra2". The plugin loads ok in Cubase and it manages to find the presets directory too. Thanks again Krim!
