energyXT as a VST host

I have been experimenting with different types of VST hosts (DAWs, V-Stack, etc), and I found a surprising solution in a program called energyXT (http://www.energy-xt.com). It is cross platform, and it has a modular side that has nothing to do with the sequencer. You can setup your VST routing in a schematic fashion very easily, and then save everything as a snapshot. I tried it on Windows and MacOSX, and I found things to be very stable. The Mac side had a few peculiarities with older plug-ins, otherwise it operated exactly the same.

I will be installing Ubuntu Studio soon, and I will let you know how that works...
