Hi there,
I found out:
It support 1 GB max. RAM
DDR2 533Mhz (667 will likely work), 1.8 Volt, CL4 (CL5 will likely work), unbuffered, 200-pin SODIMM
The V-Machine uses a 44 pin ATA100 IDE flash board.

Sure you can stream from it. The Sampletank SE files are on that drive.

Which would be pertinent if SampleTank did disk streaming, which it does not.vinylistic wrote:Sure you can stream from it. The Sampletank SE files are on that drive.

First of all worth mentioning the SM Pro support from Germany is very good!
My problem was answered within one hour but sadly not completely solved.
I'd like to remove the plugin parade with it's contents.
Concerning the sampletank SE.
I don't think sampletank is able to stream samples but needs to load them into RAM first.
When I try to add other Sampletank samples (converted from Extreme Sample Converter) it says that you will need the full sampletank version
to load own samples.

As stated immediately above you, this is correct.picaja wrote: Concerning the sampletank SE.

The SE version is a closed version, limited to only the samples included.picaja wrote:When I try to add other Sampletank samples (converted from Extreme Sample Converter) it says that you will need the full sampletank version

Is not the v-machine a general purpose VST system? Can't it run NI Kontakt player for example?buscemi wrote:Which would be pertinent if SampleTank did disk streaming, which it does not.vinylistic wrote:Sure you can stream from it. The Sampletank SE files are on that drive.

I suppose you can stream samples from the internal drive but it won't be as fast as an external USB2 drive can be. Also, it's advisable not to stress a SSD for its longevity.

Should be better I think because of the fast access time. I use on my laptop EmulatorX2 with streaming on and stream everything from a slow USB stick.ZioKiller wrote:I suppose you can stream samples from the internal drive but it won't be as fast as an external USB2 drive can be. hi,
did anyone got the Albino3 to run on the v-machine?
Everytime I try, the v-machine starts loading the dll from the usb-stick, after this it goes back to the default bank/preset...

Hi Joeri,
The Plugin Parade is automatically created as the last Bank in the V-Machine,
It has all the DLL's which are in the system, it does not take up any memory.
Regards
Danny

stated before you only look at technical problems here, and not economic problems:raintalk wrote: Is not the v-machine a general purpose VST system? Can't it run NI Kontakt player for example?
maybe NI+other does not want their products run on SMPro. they have own hw (Kore), and they have running collabs with other vst player devs (Muse)...
for this reason I am pretty sure not all major plugs will be compatible - unless v-machines get popular enough.
however, v-machines seem to be more flexible than I expected (wizard file editing)
about disk streaming: not sure but I dont think USB2 is fast enough for this in every case? can u use external hd's for that feature in general? dont know?

Hmmm...
I cannot say much at the moment but as you can IK has already stated support and others are also working on special wizard files to make loading easy into the V-Machine.

Danny
