Has anyone else downloaded yet? Mine is going super slow, and I wanted to know if it's just me. Estimated time: 58 hours.

Bummer... I was hoping to use my Saturday morning on testing this bad boy out. Guess it'll have to wait until Sunday. Geez, I hope it's done by Sunday.RyanG wrote:Yeah, I'm only getting 50kb/s... it's been going since this morning (it's now evening here) and it's only at 36%... I'm going to let it go overnight but it's hella slow.

Yeah, the file's big, no doubt. I started it this morning and it's 61% done on my laptop. I thought THAT was a long time, seems like for others it's taking even longer. But from what I see, it's gonna be worth every bit of it! Can't wait...

This looks like about what I'm getting.RyanG wrote:Yeah, I'm only getting 50kb/s... it's been going since this morning (it's now evening here) and it's only at 36%... I'm going to let it go overnight but it's hella slow.
My download speed is much faster (a whole lot faster) when I use my regular download manager. It would be good if we had a choice.
It's been going for about 7 hours and has about 21 hours to go.
Sorry, but this may not be acceptable for paying customers.

Since it's valid for beta testing purposes, you probably may want to re-think the distribution of the large set (which I'm assuming this is made up from samples.) Rather than using a download manager that doesn't allow you to choose where you download from, but at least to download the program and sampleset separately at the user's discretion?
Just a thought. Mine's going to be done throughout the week.

Hey guys,
I know it is slow, but that really depends on the location (e.g. here in CZ it works about 150kB/s, and I don't have any great connection). Anyway direct download of such a file has some pretty huge problems - it exceeds 2GB. I didn't think this should be a problem too, but before we created this downloader, we let people use the download managers and there were MANY MANY troubles. It seems that most download managers and browsers cannot handle such a huge file. So we had to make up some complicated choices like - downloading partial RARs, FTP access... And I had to respond to many people with questions
. Since when there is a problem, not everyone is willing to contact the support (except when he has already purchased it), there is a high probability, that many people have even given up.
We are preparing a DVD (this is actually partly a reason for all of this), so this should solve this issue. I hoped the internet download is good enough, but it seems, that for such a hug product it is not. Moreover many people wants to have the physical disk. The only good looking solution seems torrents, but several users do not like it.
Well, if you have any idea, please let me know.

This is the first thing we have thought about. But it is not so easy. MDrummer is far more complicated, that just a simple sampler. There are more than 10 types of resources, some smaller, some not, so it would be really hard to make it this way.MaliceX wrote:Since it's valid for beta testing purposes, you probably may want to re-think the distribution of the large set (which I'm assuming this is made up from samples.) Yeah now you have to wait almost 2 days (some of you), however than you have everything, no more problems. So I hope this is suitable (not necessarily pleasant though

I left it on this morning, and mdrummer2_large_setup is 3647 MB in the file I had the installation file. The installer says that there was some internect connection problem, and I when I start the install again to finish the download, it says that there's a internet connection problem, even though my internet is running fine in my browser. Any ideas?

...Also, it says 3562 of 3562 is already downloaded...which means it's finished...but when I click the mdrummer2_large_setup file, it just says, "Source Compressed Stream has invalid content"

One last thing-if I move the small online installer file, and then start the setup, it starts downloading Mdrummer. That proves it's not my internet's fault...but what is it? And why is the Mdrummer2_large_setup.exe larger than the size it says its going to be? I think I found your first bug!

When the download is finished, it checks its md5 to ensure it has been downloaded correctly. This means, that it wasn't. We used it in the beginning to test the downloader, but it did not happen since then (at least we have no reports including further testing).ro1000 wrote:...Also, it says 3562 of 3562 is already downloaded...which means it's finished...but when I click the mdrummer2_large_setup file, it just says, "Source Compressed Stream has invalid content"
Another internet failure...
Anyway you have now 2 possibilities - download it again or I can try to prepare a fixer - currently when the download fails from any reason, the file must be downloaded again. However there is a way to download only the fixed part(s). We have not implemented it yet, because there were no problems.
Btw. I just put there new downloader which gets the newest version, which is now placed on multiple servers, so it may be faster.

Heh this is not a bug - the thing is, that both installers are actually the same and when there are no resources, it tries to download them. So that is what happened.ro1000 wrote:One last thing-if I move the small online installer file, and then start the setup, it starts downloading Mdrummer. And yes - it is not an error in your internet connection.
