I left mine on all night.
When I checked this morning, I couldn't get program to respond and cold booted my computer to get back working. Sometimes I need to do this.
Over 2.6 was downloaded but there was no indication that it was finished or complete. I thought it was 3++ gigs.
I tried to execute both the large set up exe and the on-line setup exe. The large setup exe was unresponsive and the on-line setup exe opened to tell me there was 0 downloaded, it was choosing a mirror, and then that I had a corrupt file.
What do I do now??
Start over???

Well so you are second, it seems that sometimes the download fails. Please use this downloader and put it into the same directory:

Good I made the fix. This is the same downloader, but when it finds an error, it fixes it. Not very tested yet, but seems working.

I ran it from around 5pm (local time) to 10 am this morning and was at 30%

Have you thought about a more reliable U.S. mirror? Or what about this:

A torrent site for people that want to spread music or other things.

You could use the torrent system as well as the download mirror, so that people can get better DL speeds...just a thought.

Mine froze at 20%... Had to cancel. Guess I'll download the updated installer and download again.

You know it is really hard to find good services today... I'm pretty disappointed with the startlogic... But Czech server works good, our site is located there too.

However it is really interesting, how many people have no problems at all, fast speeds, and some conversely. It seems, that it is caused by the US mirror. So if you want better speeds you should try the new downloader, which uses the CZ server too.

My speeds are MUCH better after restarting. It's a shame that I lost my 20%, but it looks like this new d/l should still finish before the original would have.

Even with the new installer mine is still pretty slow. What speeds are you getting?

Well, obviously this is the US server... I'm now really thinking about getting another service provider...

Yaj, can you tell me what you did? Typical answer - try to restart . Then please tell me exactly what you did and what is in the task manager - if it is frozen, you should get pretty high activity of the process.

It started back up again. I guess it fixed itself for now.

Well, it fluctuates wildly, but for the most part, it stays between 30-60, which, while it's still not what I would hope for, is much better than the 15-25 I was getting before.

Vojtech, if you're considering doing a torrent, that would be excellent. No external servers needed, then. If I'm not mistaken, you don't need a host site for that, because the torrent connects directly to your own PC server. Now that I have said that, though, I realize you probably don't want everyone connecting to your personal PC. I think there are a lot of options you could explore, though, that would be either cheap or free, and provide much faster, more reliable downloads.

The fix is really not very tested, so there is possiblity, that there are some bugs. It should fix itself when restarted, and errors in the downloaded file should be fixed automatically afterwards.

the netlabel I am on uses this as another alternative to archive.org

It seems to be nice...but as far as personal experience, I cannot say...but it would depend on how many people you could get to seed the torrent...if it was just one, it would be useless. You would need a certain amount of people to agree to do it...and if so, I think it would work well.
