Maybe use some less "plastic" LEDs?

If you want them, I can upload them ;)

Here's a different approach:

i think that flattens the whole look, too grey...i prefer the blue boxes..would still like to see the slider changes too.

Since the blue boxes represent LCDs, shouldn't they be backlit and therefore lit evenly? The reason I ask is that I've tried angling the light on them (to match the other controls), and it doesn't look right.

Also, about that slider thumb... I think a traditional mixer thumb would look too big and not really match up with the rest of the controls. The one I'm using is still too flat. Maybe elongating the shadow will help. Or maybe even switching it out for a knob to control the mix.

i'd def stick with the slider, adds a diff element to the look, but i see what you mean...having said that, i think the bypass button is still too big in relation to other controls.

I followed TRN76's example and made the LED's a little more 3D. I changed the lighting angle on the smaller blue LCD boxes but haven't changed the large one yet. Bypass switch and the slider have been changed, too. I changed the color of both to match the smaller buttons for choosing LFO/Voice.

Lesle,

To my eye you've got this great physical plastic/metal look but the LED buttons don't quite work. I can't define their physical contours and their lighting direction appears to be different that everything else.

Here's some examples I threw together in Photoshop where the button lighting direction matches the other components

In this one the blue buttons are top aligned in relation to the labels...

Edit;
The LED button text is white in the above example because of the source images I used and I didn't want to take the time to 're-font' the buttons. The buttons could be more glassy but this was the best I could throw together in a reasonable time.

Here's an example from ManyTone's ManyStation of an LED button style that might work really nice with a little tweaking.

Thanks for posting this example. I really like the glass effect.

Here's the new and possibly last version:

I don't know if this last attempt at creating a glassy look (with the correct lighting angle) is any better than my previous attempt. But this may be as good as it gets for now. I'm starting to hit the wall skill-wise.

This looks "perfect", though I too prefer the smaller (and labeled) "bypass" button.

+1

The bigger button looks nice, but its not clear what its function is without the label.
Nice job. :hihi:

Hi L.S.,
I have one nitpicky thing to mention - the ridge around the led push button seems too round for how right-angled the corners are on the button itself. I might match them a tad bit more closely -but it is looking great!
