Any point in buying samples?

So you're wondering why you should get Nexus when Sylenth can do all those sounds and the first thing you do is ask for a preset of a sound ?

Well there's your answer right there. If you want those sounds,get Nexus or you'll be in the hands of kind preset developers to program the sounds for you.

BTW Nexus is far from just purchasing samples. It has a fully fledged synth engine so it's not the same thing as just buying some samples. Some day people will understand this but i fear that day is very far in the future. But some day and it will be a gloriuos day.

Actually with Nexus you are entirely in the hands of the preset (sample) developers. If you want your sound a bit different, you're screwed. If you want to use an original sound no-one else has ever used, you're screwed... Until you get Sylenth1 of course

no its not, better inform yourself before stating wrong facts here:
it can produce saw/sine/sqaure/tri/noize etc... as well. I guess 50% of all presets do not even use samples at all! (all presets with immediate loading times). So, yes its a full synth. But with restricted areas. But thats no problem for me, you still can change the sounds a lot! And the presets are just top notch

Well he pointed at the Nexus mp3 and said he could get all those sounds from Sylenth (which i dont doubt BTW) and then continues to ask for presets. So in Nexus he would have those presets at hand and in Sylenth he has to depend on someone else to do it since he's obviously not capable of programming them himself.

I have nothing against Sylenth and are not trying to badmouth it but in this particular instance Nexus is clearly the winner since it has those presets he longs for and the point that you can't program it is moot since he does'nt seem to capable of that anyways.

They both come with presets

The advantage with a 'synth' like Sylenth is that if you can't program sounds yourself, you can -if you ask nicely- get a preset made by someone else (on a friendly forum for instance) without having to buy a rompler expansion pack that has the sound, if there is such a rompler expansion pack in the first place (and if you can find out it had said sound)

I am not a a programmer and nothing wrong with asking for a little help,i am more than willing to pay for presets or complete patch banks when they are for sale.....I think you need to chill its christmas

Sorry bro, but your argument is not really working...

It comes down to a question of spending money for a sound (Nexus expansion pack) or getting a sound for free. Maybe its just cuz I'm really feeling this financial crisis ordeal, but getting the sound I desire for free would make Sylenth the winner here.

As for "begging" for people to reproduce a preset.... hmm, pretty harsh words there buddy. I don't see any begging here and I don't see anything wrong with asking the question in a music forum, since the response could have been a resounding "no" instead of Lennard producing the presets.

Look, if you like Nexus, cool... say it loud and proud and all, but really, don't be so defensive since after all, the "best" synth boils down to just user-preference and defining a winner there, truly depends on the user.
