Yet you are here and begging people to reproduce those presets for you (which still are'nt samples btw).

Sorry bro, but your argument is not really working...

It comes down to a question of spending money for a sound (Nexus expansion pack) or getting a sound for free. Maybe its just cuz I'm really feeling this financial crisis ordeal, but getting the sound I desire for free would make Sylenth the winner here.
You're assuming he will get the presets for free which is a great idea in theory but so far that plan does'nt seem to pan out.
elxicano wrote:As for "begging" for people to reproduce a preset.... hmm, pretty harsh words there buddy. I don't see any begging here and I don't see anything wrong with asking the question in a music forum, since the response could have been a resounding "no" instead of Lennard producing the presets.

Isn't this begging ?
elxicano wrote:Look, if you like Nexus, cool... say it loud and proud and all, but really, don't be so defensive since after all, the "best" synth boils down to just user-preference and defining a winner there, truly depends on the user.
I don't really care for Nexus and would much rather have a synth i can program myself, such as Sylenth1 for example. Not my first choice but i would pick it over Nexus everytime.

However that is not the point. The point is he wants those Nexus presets and can't program them for himself for whatever reason. So he has two choices: wait for someone else to do it (which so far has amounted to nothing) or get Nexus. As simple as that really.

My preferences has absolutely nothing to do with it neither was i being defensive. I simply call it as i see it.

No,it's called asking for something and saying please..it's called manners

I wouldn't call that a fully fledged synth engine, it is still entirely based on samples.
no its not, better inform yourself before stating wrong facts here:
it can produce saw/sine/sqaure/tri/noize etc... as well. I guess 50% of all presets do not even use samples at all! (all presets with immediate loading times). So, yes its a full synth. But with restricted areas. But thats no problem for me, you still can change the sounds a lot! And the presets are just top notch
Well then maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I just tried the latest demo version without the sample bank and the only sound I can get out of it is 1 single saw wave, which is probably an internally stored sample too. So I'd still say it's entirely based on samples.

Jupiter8, check the thread and posted replay from Lennard... he did get the preset for free, so no its not an assumption.

As stated by the OP... its a request. Since when is asking for something begging? If you and I have difference of opinion on what constitutes asking a question vs. begging, then, we just don't agree here.

As for asking for the preset... I just don't see nothing wrong with it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you think the OP should be able to do this himself. If that's your main point, all I can say it that everyone has to start somewhere... perhaps they'll be inspired to see how the preset was made so they can do it next time and maybe even return the favor the next time someone else asks for a preset.

It's strange.. Nexus is probably the only synth for which you can't find any specs for on the developers website. Am I missing something? How many oscillators does it have? Filters? It's all a bit of a secret it seems.

and exactly this saw is OSC based, not sample based.
Try to pull up the pitchbend a bit. Do you hear aliasing sample artifacts? I thought YOU as a programmer should know such basics

you find all specs there, or in the product forums:

it has 4 Osc slots, which can either be a multisample or a Waveform.

hmm.. still can't find anything

and a user forum is a weird place to stick synth specs (not that I can actually find any there)

That doesn't mean it can't be samplebased. Actually I just checked again and found that the saw loses high frequency content at very low pitch, which is a clear indication that the saw is in fact NOT generated in realtime. So again, I'm not moving an inch from my original standpoint.

well, actually it DOES mean. You hear at once, if a clean sawtooth is a sample, no matter how good the used interpolation algorhythm is.

this Saw is synthesized, please ask BigTone or Mike Kleps, Vengeance or any other designer for Nexus if you do not believe it. Or try it out: use Halion or any other software sampler - sample a clean saw and pitch it some cents. Compare. THEN post again.

I am really suprised, that you seem to be unable to hear this

The maximum pitchbend range in Nexus is only 12 notes as far as I can see. At 2x oversampling you could already pitch up a waveform 1 octave without noticable aliasing. But there are several other methods to achieve this too.

If you are so certain the wave is synthesized, then would you be so kind to explain why it loses high frequency content at low pitch EXACTLY the same way a sample would because of the interpolation filter?

By the way, even IF it would be a generated saw, that still would make it a pretty lousy synthesizer if that's all it can do ;)

of couse Lennart, your Synth is the best in universe

Actually the way you seem to be so sure that the saw is not sample based and the tone you put on here makes me think you are not just some Nexus fanboy...

Thanks, but that's not the point here. I said (and still say) that Nexus is entirely sample based, you said it's not.

its not - for sure. Feel free to ask someone else if you do not believe me.

That's awesome Lennard, thank you so much! :)
