Hey guys, please report bugs related to rhythm system, rhythm editor and generator...

Not sure if this is a bug or a feature request.
Say I want to select all the hihat notes across a particular rhythm (all notes in the hihat track). The cursor response is different based on whether or not there is a note in the very first position on the left-hand side. To try this out left-click next to a track that has a note on the left-most vertical line. The cursor will automatically grab the note and it will not allow you to make a selection of all (or some) of the notes by dragging a box around them. However, you can do the same from the right-hand side. You can also drag from the bottom. You can left-click-drag from the left-hand side as long as there is no note in the left-most vertical line.
The right-hand side does not display this problem as you cannot place a not on the last vertical-line to the right.
I'm not sure if this is by design or not.

Ok, this is probably not intentional. However as it was requested, next version will contain new feature: when you double-click a track, it will select all notes in it. Would it solve the problem for you?
One correction: you cannot select all notes of a rhythm, only all notes in one loop (and there may be hundreds of them - loop selector).

Sorry, I should have said loop. Yes a double-click would fix this but as I stated, its not a showstopper as long as you always start your selection from the right.MeldaProduction wrote:Ok, this is probably not intentional. Next issue:
With the loop editor in "pen" mode; Left-click places a note and right-click will erase. Now if you left-click and drag to place a few notes all at once the notes are placed just fine. But most times a right-click afterwards will not delete the notes. Now this does not happen if the notes are placed one at a time. Only when the notes are placed (painted) several at a time do I see this behavior. And it happens whether the notes are placed vertically or horizontally. For some reason it requires several right-clicks to get it to delete.

Ok, so the first is fixed.
And this one - it erases a not on each mouse move. So it is enough to drag slowly. (Or it should be

On the second one I was not clear. If you right-click drag across the notes that you placed during a left-click drag you are ok. If after a left-click drag you try to select each note separately then you will see that they sometimes require 5 or more right-clicks before they will delete. Once again, not a showstopper, just unexpected behavior.MeldaProduction wrote:Ok, so the first is fixed.

Question:
In the rhythm editor let's say I add a loop and its 4-beats. Then I click the "right" arrow above the loop and a new/additional blank loop of 4-beats is created. Now I have 8-beats total. How do I add a loop, or overwrite that area, last 4-beats only? If I try to add a loop at this point it will overwrite the first 4-bars as well.
In addition, an "Undo" button for the last action would compliment the delete button nicely. As it is right now, if I make a mistake I have to start over (unless I'm missing something).

I'll check the delete problem tomorrow (1am now
).
About the right arrow - loop editor edits a single loop, which can be longer than just one bar. By clicking the arrow right you only add a bar to the right. So you are still editing the same loop.
If you want to create another loop, you have to use loop selector. Each key on the virtual piano can contain any number of loops, the list of them is on the right of it. If there are multiple loops for a key, MDrummer can choose randomly or you can select it via "loop index". It is shown in the videos, except there is no video explaining details of editing rhythms. We mostly use rhythm generator, since the rhythms are pretty huge.
Uff, I hope I've put some light into it

Ok, this I understand. But that second bar is empty. Is there no other way to have a different variation occupy that second bar other than adding the notes manually? I would think that after I created variations in the rhythm generator I would be able to link them up in the editor, inside a single loop if needed.MeldaProduction wrote:About the right arrow - loop editor edits a single loop, which can be longer than just one bar. This is because you do not have any tambourine2 or guiros in the drumset.stanlea wrote:Rhythm generator : load percussion -> the three last tracks, tambourine2, and the two guiro produce no sound.

Well, you can use copy & paste (ctrl+c/v or icons above the loop editor) and of course we can do someting likg Ctrl+Right arrow - add a bar and duplicate contents of the previous. How about that?UncleAge wrote:Ok, this I understand. But that second bar is empty. Is there no other way to have a different variation occupy that second bar other than adding the notes manually? Copy and Paste sound like good solutions. As of right now though if you ctrl+c/v the pasted notes overlay the notes in the first bar. I can't figure out how to paste them into the second bar. Moving the playhead above the loop before pasting doesn't accomplish this either.MeldaProduction wrote:Well, you can use copy & paste (ctrl+c/v or icons above the loop editor)UncleAge wrote:Ok, this I understand. I don't mean to drag this on & on its just that as soon as someone clicks the arrow above the loop and a new empty bar is created they'll want to do something with it. Otherwise why have that functionality right?
Keep in mind, there isn't a lot wrong with the app as it stands. It really is a pretty deep app that's very responsive and not really making a big hit CPU wise on my system. Its going to take me a while to really dig through most of it. I think most of what I will see will be small things like I stated above.
p.s. I really like the slider bar in the bottom right corner that let's me zoom/stretch the loop area. Let's me use more of my 22" monitor. Nice touch

Ok thanks again!
The copy & paste places the notes starting at actual position - the locator. You can move locator by clicking on the small gray bar under the arrows. Yes, you could not know that
. We just could find any better way to specify position to paste. Anyway the idea with copying bar is generaly cool. Count on it in the next update!
