Sorry if this seems like a dumb post.

I'm thinking of signing up for the group buy and seeing that share-it costs more, I thought about going with PayPal.

To pay by PayPal, do I need to have a PayPal account? I only ask 'cos next to the PayPal icon it shows a VIsa card and Visa is the method I want to use.

Cheers

Hi,

You don't need a PayPal account, just click the PayPal logo and on the left side of the screen you'll see something like this:
Don't have a PayPal account?
Use your credit card or bank account (where available). Continue
I'm not sure it if that will also automatically create a PayPal account for you though. But even if it does you can cancel the account afterwards if you like.

Just create a paypal account to have. I have had a PP account since 2000 and can't even begin to fathom how much money has passed through it. It's 09 get an account it comes in handy.

Thanks both for the replies.

I was actually thinking of getting a PP account if I needed to do so, just for this group buy, even tho I don't really shop much online. However, it looked like PP would charge me for paying for the balance of purchases using Visa? That kind of put my off getting an account.

Then again everything I try to do today online (this is a new KVR account and even with this, every time I try to post is says something like "type of reply not specified') is more complicated than it should be. It seems I'm having a bad IT day...

You shouldn't be getting charged to use paypal at all. The only time you get hit with a fee is when someone pays you which is 3%. It should be 100% free to setup and use paypal to buy stuff. Selling stuff(getting paid via pp) is another story like I said with the 3% fee.

Haha I am the total opposite. I do all my shopping online and actually hate when I have to buy something in the real world. lol

Since I got hit by fraudsters twice after using credit cards on the web a couple of years back, I've been using VISA pre-paid credit vouchers to buy stuff.

Every time I'm forced to use PayPal, I have to register the voucher number with them as a new "credit card." Each time I do this, PayPal charges me a €1.50 "verification" fee which they say will be refunded to my "credit card" after my first purchase.

I've never received any such refund from them. As a consequence, I avoid doing business with them altogether.

Kind regards.
