Any idea why this generates hanging notes in Zebra (2.3)

It shouldn't... but sending the same note twice is generally not a good idea...

Will need to investigate this...

Arpeggiators might do that intentionally, as well as MIDI echo effects. In the old days we used to plug the MIDI OUT back into the MIDI IN of the same instrument to get a free doubler effect.

MIDI guitar control is another example, quite possible to play the same note on two different strings at the same time.

My bad, it's actually kore2 that filters the second note off.

When is NI going to hire someone who has a litlle knowledge about midi

Hmmm... good point.

That said, it still shouldn't hang. I have double notes accidentally happening all the time (USB MIDI keyboard sending internally via USB and externally via Midi interface), without hanging notes. Hmmm... I'm confused...

Hmmm.

Huh? It let's a second NoteOn go through but filters a second Note Off?

Maybe the NoteOffs are simply close together so that they happen during the same render call? What if you move the second NoteOff a few ticks back?

No it's the same crap they do with kontakt.

Eaxh time you trigger a same note it will play a new voice, but when it receives the first note off event it turns them all off.

Totally stupid IMO, but try to convince these germans

Hehehe. We simply know what's good for you. You have to obey!

(and btw. it's not the Germans in general but the Berlin gang)

Ok, it's not a Kore problem either. Next time I better check the full routing before screaming on fire.

Time to have some sleep

At least I'm very happy that zebra let's you play duplicate notes. 8)

All kore sounds seem to have that kontakt behaviour where the first NoteOff will turn all voices with the same pitch off, which is really annoying when using a midi guitar.

Right now I'm fooling with the karma software and I find it really neet to have some arp or pattern playing over the same instrument without the original notes being cut by the arp.
Off course I could use a second instance to prevent the problem but that makes everything so complicated, I'd rather use zebra.

Actually it seems that it was midi-senderella that filters this second note off. Where is the s-production forum :x
