One more question. Any idea when Omnisphere and Komplete Classics will be usable on Receptor ?
Omnisphere is of critically high importance to us. Komplete Classics a bit less since it is discontinued (so I understand). However, Komplete Classics should be very easy to get working using Direct Install. Omnisphere is a bit of a bigger challenge, but we're definitely working on it.

As an "old" Receptor user, reading all this makes me happy.

Thanks for replying to my email and I look forward to being able to use Omnisphere on the Receptor soon.

I did not realise that Komplete Classics has been discontinued (it is no longer advertised on NI's website) so I accept that you won't be looking at creating an installer for it. Unfortunately, I have been unable to get it running using direct install.

As I understand it, in order to use Direct Install, I need to insert the installation disk for the plugin that I wish to use within Receptor. This would be OK if I had disks for the individual plugins within Komplete Classics (ie Pro 53, B4II, Elektrik Piano and Akoustik Piano); however, the installer for these 4 plugins is a "bundle" located on DVD 1 of the 5 DVD's provided with Komplete Classics (the other four include the samples for the four Akoustik Piano programs). Since you have only provided installers for the individual plugins and not the Classics bundle, I cannot see how I can get Classics to work on Receptor.

On the NI forum, someone posted the following in June this year :

"In the meantime I've got the separate serial numbers for each part of the Komplete Classic bundle and successfully installed Akoustik piano and B4II on my receptor!"

I responded to this and asked them to let me know how they managed to install Akoustik Piano and B4II but have received no reply. I specifically stated the following :

"I have managed to get the serial number for each "part" of Komplete by opening each instrument and clicking the NI logo. I have also copied the .dll file for each instrument to "Unsupported Plugins" on my Receptor hard drive; however, I have been unable to install the instruments as I am asked, each time, to "locate file" or "installation folder". In the case of Pro 53, for example, when I click the "Install File" button under Set Up, a box appears stating "Pro 53 cannot find the default file def.p5a".

I cannot locate the necessary files for each plugin as there is no separate installation disk for each instrument.

Groovology, please can you (or anyone else out there) suggest how I can go about installing Komplete Classics.

Thanks for your help and apologies for the length of my post.

I can try making an installer script for it, and we would have done so by now but NI didn't have any discs for us. I can bug them again to see if I can get a set of discs, then we can create the installer.

We're going to focussing more attention on Direct Install after we get 1.8 shipping and installable on all the installed base of Receptors, so we'll see if we can't get that addressed along the way.

thanks for your patience

I have lots of suggestions for Receptor's mixer screen improvements. Are you still reading the long and winding wish list?
Actually, many of our best ideas are contributed by users... so by all means send them in! You can send them to info@museresearch.com and state that you'd like to make some suggestions for future software releases...

We definitely listen to your input and we definitely appreciate you taking the time to write...

Sorry to trouble you, and I know you have a ton of other things to be getting on with, but is there any chance you could bug NI to get the disks from them so that a Komplete Classics installer can be created ? This would be very helpful to me as well as a lot of other NI / Receptor users out there.

Thanks for your help.
