It doesn't matter where you live in the EU, the rules state that you must pay the VAT rate applicable in the vendor's country. The Dutch rate is 19%, so that's what ALL Europeans must pay.

In the USA we don't have to pay tax on anything bought online.

In the US we pay local sales tax on items bought from vendors in our own state. For example, if you live in Massachusetts and you buy from a Mass-based online retailer, you pay Mass. state sales tax. Things bought from vendors based in the other 49 states are not taxed.

I was in similar situation with other developers. Usually they are sensible enough to include your previous sale. Maybe not to refund the price diff but to give away some extra soundbanks or coupons. Most importantly, this kind of possibility probing should be done in private. Saying these online or bragging your successful probing afterwards only make developers more reluctant to make exception. That goes both ways. Put yourself in developers' shoes.

As I said, I don't need any extras. I bought it before the group buy, it's as simple as that. If I really felt hard-done about it I would have contacted Lennard. As I also said, win some, lose some. I'm very happy with Sylenth and I've supported a developer.

That shouldn't prevent me from having a laugh at myself though.

I also bought it at full price the moment the AU version was released. No regrets. It's worth every shekel of the asking price (and more).
