Just wondered... is there a reason why Runciter isn't labelled Uhbik-R? (ie: is there an other more deserving of the R effect to come?) I almost missed it when loading up Logic, so intent on finding the Uhbiks was I. (Also sounding like Yoda it would seem).
Good work Sir... am having fun fiddling with these, it's almost nice not to have presets for a little bit!

This is my first adventure with Uhbik...
http://www.3amnoise.net/uhbik_demo.mp3
Zebra 2 (drunk machine preset) > Runciter > Uhbik D
I had an LFO from Numerology modulating 1 delay tap and the cutoff on Runciter.
Sorry it's a bit long and it ain't pretty but I got into a jam.

It appears to me that your version of Cubase can't handle the surroundishness of Uhbik. in that case here's the workaround:cain wrote:hey urs i have a problem Uhbik, i installed it and all the dll appear in my u-he folder in cubase plugins folder but they dont appear in cubase vst 5.2. when i open up cubase. i go and look in my cubase vst folder and all the dll are there all the Uhbik along with the zebra2 , zebralette and zrev dll.
the zebra2 , zebralette and zrev work and show up in cubase normaly but its just that none of the Uhbik effects appear.
the info on my pc's are below, i checked them on both my pc in my studio and they dont show up on either? could you look into this please i bought it with out checking first but i thought there would be no problems since the other u-he products work good on my pc.
1 pc ----quad Q6600 2.4 ghz(oc to 3.0 ghz) - 4 gig of ram - 3x200 gig sata drives
2 pc -----dualcore e8500 3.1 ghz - 4 gigs of ram - 3x200 gig sata drives
both pc are running windows xp pro and are tuned for audio and are running -- cubase vst 5.2 ( i know old host but still works great in my studio)
could you please look into this please, thanks
oh i forgot my audio card on both pc is an m-audio 2496
if Uhbiks do not appear in your host on Windows, rename the dlls into Uhbik-N_2io, where N is A/D/F/P/S/T and Runciter.dll to Runciter_2io.dll of course
This makes them pure stereo plugs, good to go in Orion < 7.6 (or latest betas), WaveLab Lite and possibly other hosts which get nuts about multichannel plugs. I'll assemble a comprehensive list on my website then...
Let me know if this helps!
Btw. on Mac only Digital Performer behaves odd, so Uhbik automatically go into stereo mode in DP. Unfortunately I have no contact for them (my old ones dried out), so I guess it'll stay that way until after NAMM (I hope to make new first contact there).
Cheers,

How do I get the envelope follower on Runciter to follow a different input (like a side chain). I can get some really awesome audio rate modulation happening when it's set to transient mode and would love to be able to feed it an s/h modulated sine wave for modulation, while I process drums as I did above!

Hope you noticed that you can even sync the shift to song tempoMitchK1989 wrote:uhbik S will even replace logic's ringshifter for more subtle applications (setting the max shift to 1 or 10 hrtz is just genius urs... Makes it a lot easier to use a frequency shifter for things OTHER than "CLANK-CZZZ-CLAAAAAANK-WEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeooooooooooo" sounds. First frequency shifter other than ringshifter I've found any use for whatsoever.
Hmmm... the Flanger definately goes into selfoscillation at extreme feedback settings. Maybe not in eco mode, havn't checked...The flanger is pure class, and as soon as I figure out how feedback works between the taps in the delay (basically as soon as there's a manual) I'm sure I'll love that one too... Though at the moment it seems you actually cannot get feedback near the point of oscillation on it? Not that I have a problem with the delay being mild mannered of course.
The Reverb and EQ both just plain sound good and are easy to use.
I must admit, I still havn't set up my surround rig here. This is what I want to do on Sunday, when all initial Uhbiks are up and running. The tremelo makes me wish that I was working in surround sound now that I know how the pattern Y and pattern X stuff works...
If you love the flanger and the shifter, you'll most likely also dig the phaser. The filter kind of falls out of it a bit, mostly because of its colouring (both gui- and soundwise). You'll seeHaven't tested the filter or phaser much yet...

Sorry, not yet.justin3am wrote:How do I get the envelope follower on Runciter to follow a different input (like a side chain). Sidechaining has to be added later, after RTAS and possibly VST3 is running. All plugin formats have different side chain behaviours, and I'm not quite sure how the multichannel stuff applies in this respect

The MIDI Learn Option doesn't work on LIVE 7.12.

R would rather be suited for a Rotary thing. F was already taken by the flanger. "Runciter" is of course a reference to a character in a certain novel. Reading this novel is strongly recommended, even though no precog in there has foreseen the intrusion of an h for musical purposetaoyoyo wrote:Just wondered... is there a reason why Runciter isn't labelled Uhbik-R? Uhbik itself is considered an "uhmbrella" under which I can release a certain type of effects plugins. I already have a good understanding (read: prototypes) for G, L and R. But as always, I'm not sure what and when. I'm not even sure if I can make X over the weekend, considering that I havn't slept well and also taking into account that we have visitors for dinner tonight and a mandatory attendance at a writer's public reading (not PKD unfortunately, not even anything close to a reincarnation of his).

I guess in Live you have to set up Live's internal MidiCC assignments. I think to remember that Live doesn't give us all MidiCCs by default. Or some such thing.alexfalcao wrote:The MIDI Learn Option doesn't work on LIVE 7.12.
One addition that I had planned was an indicator light for Midi and channel activity. This would be a spiffy control sitting below the text in the display area (hence the slightly larger area than in my other plugs). I need a fully working surround setup though (means, plug cables into the already set up speakers) because this control will also manage some deeper aspects (center treatment, Lfe treatment). Will add this soon!

I turned the remote option on and now works. (I had turned the remote option off because it was controlling Live instead of some plugins I have)..

Oh, and is there a reason there is not a thread announcing this in the effects section? Seems like people who might not visit the u-he forum would be interested!

I found that the MIDI learn woks when I insert Uhbik alone (Only Uhbik on an empty track), but IF I insert an Instrument or a clip, it stops working.alexfalcao wrote:Thanks Urs,Urs wrote:I guess in Live you have to set up Live's internal MidiCC assignments.
