They are surround already, but there's one control yet missing that lets you i.e. select stereo->surround. The "Channel Offset" control on the modulation effects does the trick with different modulation phase on each channel. Some other effects will get special "paired stereo" modes.

Digital Performer unfortunately crashes when I present it with Surround capabilities, even though Uhbik has no problems to pass AUValidation. From all I can see, DP "misunderstands" something here. I have thus put in an automatic switch to constrain Uhbiks to stereo in DP, until I can make contact with MotU. Unfortunately they don't have any developer relations on their website, hence I hope to make contact on NAMM or MusikMesse.

Cheers,

Zebra 2 (drunk machine preset) > Runciter > Uhbik D
I had an LFO from Numerology modulating 1 delay tap and the cutoff on Runciter.

Sorry it's a bit long and it ain't pretty but I got into a jam. :)
This is sick! :D

Had to wait till now to listen loud. Sick 8)

... gotcha... must read afore-mentioned book, looks interesting!

Uhbik itself is considered an "uhmbrella" under which I can release a certain type of effects plugins. I already have a good understanding (read: prototypes) for G, L and R. But as always, I'm not sure what and when. I'm not even sure if I can make X over the weekend, considering that I havn't slept well and also taking into account that we have visitors for dinner tonight and a mandatory attendance at a writer's public reading (not PKD unfortunately, not even anything close to a reincarnation of his).
... i'm sure most folk wouldn't mind if you took the weekend off urs?! ;) :P

That may be true

Feedback was so overwhelming that I won't manage much work today anyway... so apart from emails one could say, Saturday is off already...

Amazing - this is comparable to eventide quality. Seriously. So much for getting the soundtoys - these are better and cheaper.

Two things, though, if I may be so incredibly cheeky to make feature requests at this early stage: would it be possible to increase the range of the delay control on Uhbik-F? And would it be possible to do the increase the rate control of Uhbik-D to +/-100%? I'm after the same effect in each case: drumkit falling down a flight of stairs :)

Thanks

I would say that these have some other really strong arguments though...

This will be possible with the granular effect that's coming at some point (free addition, it just wasn't ready for prime time)... I can make a teaser for this... maybe... it's *cruel* though

(and of course we have MFM2 :hihi: )

Looks great!

One issue - the installer threw up an error message:

2 x 2.8 Quad Core Mac Pro
OS 10.5.5

After running the Mac VST / AU installer, I got the following message:
Install Failed

The following install step failed: run postflight script for Uhbik Mac.
Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.

It's installed an Uhbik component in my plug-ins folder anyway, but I thought it best to let you know about the issue.

Thanks Hint! - I might have to verify the installer script.

Btw... is the presets directory still writable and executable?

MacHD/Library/Audio/Presets/u-he/

There was a bit fo a hassle with the Zebra installer prior to 2.3.1 and it occurrs to me now that this might still be the case with Uhbik...

A weird one here, Urs.

Insert Uhbik into Chainer, and everything sounds distorted. All of my other hosts, it will sound OK.

Besides that little quibble (I rarely use Chainer anymore anyways), it's brilliant.

MacHD/Library/Audio/Presets/u-he

No problem!

The installer put (empty) preset folders in there for each of the effects.

The permissions for the u-he folder are set to allow "Read & Write" for my OSX user account.

Have you tried the "pure stereo" trick, i.e. rename uhbik-F.dll to Uhbik-F_2io.dll? This may fix problems with chainer... 8)

No, I haven't- and I see where that might work. Thanks for the idea...

Is there a trick I can try ot make some of these work fine as inserts in a mono audio track in Nuendo?

Purchase worked fine. (Although at the bottom of the page there was something that looked like it wanted to be an image or something, but ended up broken HTML.*)

Installer worked great on WinXP.

Adding serial# was dead simple.

Urs, this is great news! :D

Surely there must be consensus by now...

Oh, it may actually...

I'm a bit confused though because Nuendo should do multichannel/surround just fine... how old is your Nuendo? - There was a similar problem in an older version of Cubase...

Sigh... I had hoped the list of surround-o-phobic hosts would be way smaller...
