Hi,
i would like to start working with a friend who is using a MAC (MacBook, I believe) while I am using a PC for music.
We will need to quickly lay down simple tracks, mostly sketches of Bass + Guitars + Drums + Some synths....
Is it possible to use MuLab (free or not) and work on the same project by sending it by email or using some sort of webspace?
Is the format the same on both MAC and PC and can be exchanged easily or will e have to face conversion or incompatibility problems?
thanks!

Yes.
MU.LAB's MuSession files are 100% compatible on OSX and Windows.
Note that if you're using vst plugins, then you need to have the same vsts installed and all vsts must be mac-win compatible too, because that's outside MU.LAB's control.

thet's fine. thanks for the reply.
I don't think we will be using VST, at least not at the moment.
Just one more question.
If we exchange the MuSession files is all audio included or will we need to export audio files separately ?

Audio files are not included in the musession file for file size reasons.
If you transfer a session and audio files are not found, MU.LAB will ask to locate these audio files so it's quite easy to relink to the actual audio file paths.

i still feel like that is not enough
wouldnt it be better somehow if there was an option (marked with a checkbox)that when we save a new project it creates its own folder and saves itself into it, along with all the later recorded audio. then all audio files could have realative links in their own folder. this way it would be much better organised, easier to transfer, and overall safer i believe.

Yes, this option would be cool (for example Reason has a similar option of saving everything in the exported file)..
But the current implementation would be OK for me...We'll just export MuSession File and AudioParts, shouldn't be difficult...
