I am going to respond to you in as much detail as I can directly, i wish for a new concept and product like this it would be as simple as I also would like it to be, but it is not, our challenge is to keep making it simpler as far as the user experience is concerned and with the community feedback we received so far and the comments from users such as yourself we are doing this.
As far as some of the items you mentioned:
Making the unit more intuitive - absolutely
Not send a plugs in Sync? - It certainly does transfer the plug in sync
Large Sample Banks - We recommend putting them on a USB stick
File Manager - Current release has many more features to handle this
A large amount of Wizard files will be uploaded this week to make things simpler for you all as well as some tutorial videos.
What was added and fixed this week in the software:
* Can clone presets from same bank.
* Syncing fixes.
* First bank renames ok.
* New intelligent update mechanism that can handle updating the linux
kernel and user partition
* Sync progress indicator (spinning line)
* Sync works despite having bad MIDI-OUT devices connected
* Create new folder when creating new bank from GUI.
* Plugin deletion more robust
* Updated busy messages
* Mouse on MIDI channel and splits works again
* Confirmation menus on delete operations
* Hourglass cursor shows when app is busy, gui operations are ignored
when busy
* Last slot of main mixer is useable
* Clear preset, clear bank, delete bank, and clear V-Machine in a nice
front panel menu.
* Delete plugin works from front panel in PC application.
* Clear all presets in a bank
* Delete all banks
* User guide packed with app installer
* Running the application while an instance is already running will
simply bring the existing instance's window to the foreground instead of
a second erroneous instance being launched.
* Clicking "Help" opens the FAQ in a browser.
* Removed master solo
* Renders more intelligently so there is no big delay on OS-triggered
screen updates (vista fix)
* Renamed save/load to import/export in menus and dialogs
* Table window is enabled in floating editor mode.
Some very important updates!!
New wine version - Wine 1.1.9 <http://www.winehq.org/news/2008112101 >
New kernel -including hotplug - 2.6.26.2
On a personal note I will try to make sure I get a wizard done for you for EZdrummer.

Hi everybody!
I bought a V-Machine a couple of days ago, and I must say I'm pretty happy with it. For now, I'm using it with just freeware VTS, waiting for wizard files to be uploaded. I understand it's a pretty brave and innovative product, and the company needs some customer feedback to develop things the right way.
I have a couple of questions for Danny:
1) I find the speed when switching between plug ins satisfying, but maybe not very good for a live usage. Some plug ins take a while to load (like Organized Trio, which takes more than 5 seconds). Can this issue be addressed with a future firmware upgrade? Is it possible?
2) I tried to make some wizard files myself, but I failed thusfar.
I tried your Lounge Lizard 3 one, but it seems it's not working for me.
I put my serial number and informations in the places you specified, but the V-Machine won't load it, it just keeps saying "Loading Lounge Lizard".
So I did a check, uninstalled Lounge Lizard and tried if the VFX can load it with only the vfxinfo and the program files copied in the plug in's directory under vmachine\plugs.
It tells me my trial expired, and the VFX crashes, even if my numbers are correct and I put them (I suppose) in the right places.
Do you know a solution?
Also, do you have a vfxinfo for the B4 II by Native Instruments?
Thanks a lot in advance!
Keep up the good work!
Guido

Bug Report,
Current release 1212B,
When you sync a preset to the V-Machine a bug has been reported that only one preset/bank at a time was able to be done.
After you sync a new preset please re-start the VFX application if you are creating a new preset to be synced.
Thanks
Danny

Hi,Tricatel wrote:Hi VFXAU. Could you or anybody else post some of these wizards please?
4font True Pianos
NI FM8
Rob Papen Albino
Arturia MiniMoog
Novation V-Station
Arturia ARP2600
Arturia CV-80V
Danny sent me some wizards with the permission to post them here.
To make it simple, I uploaded the whole zip-file (don't forget to read the readme's!) to the "Banks&Patches"-Database:

Hi VXAU!
I desperately need Wizard-Files for Sythogys "Ivory" and G-Medias "M-Tron Pro". Could someone please post them?
And when will the next Softwareupdate for the V-Machine be available?
Thanks a lot!

Hi,ala5t0r wrote:Ok, I managed to make my own Lounge Lizard vfxinfo and it worked.
I still can't make my B4 II work...is Native Instrument licensing system supported at all?
As I mentioned previsouly I myslef am not allowed to discuss anything about NI at this time. Please don't take this as a Negative reply, just that I cannot discuss this matter.
Also NI, IK and several other plug-in makers use a hardware authentication system so you cannot just put the plug across so easily, you need to autorise it to the hardware itself.
Some post are on other forums about doing this via VNC as well but it is not our preffered method, we want to make it simple for you to do.

Oh well...I guess I'll just wait for an official vfxinfo!
Will it be a long wait?
Thank you anyway!
It is Hardware Profiling, not like a dongle key (Ilok or Syncrosoft) but the software looks at your hardware and give a serial number from this. Several companies use this authentication method.

Certainly new firmware upgrades make a difference,ala5t0r wrote:Hi everybody!

I can suggest a couple of methods here.
1. Put them on the same preset with different midi channels. You can have 6 different VSTi loaded at the same time (the 4 channels plus the 2 AUX can handle VSTi as well) and instantly switch between plugins by changing the midi channel on your controller.
2. when you make a preset, the V-Machine will look at the next preset, if it is the same DLL then it would not reload it again. So put both your plugins in the first preset so when you switch on to the next one it does not need to load it again.
Try it our and let me know how you go.

I think it was Lounge Lizard 2, I will check.

the answer is: business. Danny is so nice to repeat it again and again - I am pretty sure this is due to NI's harsh business practices.ala5t0r wrote: What does it mean you can't discuss about NI?
I would be naive to overlook business necessities but they really made me mad how things went with sonicbytes Phrazor: they even pay for people getting their mouth shut (speculation!) - a strategy that might pay out for McDonalds&Co. but I dont want such a competitor in audio soft.
agreed: its not all fact what I said here, also speculation. yet I believe NI became a pool of nasty business sharks in the last ~3 years. sad.
Personally, I hope not.ala5t0r wrote: Will we ever have NI support?
