What's the current recommendation for presets? I made a couple for Runciter, but I'm not sure if there are updates coming that will make them obsolete. Just wondering if I should still think of these plugins as being in beta mode or if I can really start running with them.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

... And will Uhbik-X be able to load the presets from the "simpler" effects (so we can just load it and tweak with the modulation features and all the extra stuff) ?

That's Bass SanctuaryBass Sanctuary seams to cut the bass, but would it be nice it is would leave the bass untreated... just a thought.![]()
I mean inside Uhbik-D,
I've been terrorising the neighbours with Runciter.
So a Sanctuary is where stuff get hidden???
I was expecting a more holy treatment of the bass.
As in sweeping tops, solid bass. Maybe with Uhbik-x you can mix the untreated bass back in by using the eq or the Runciter ... Now that's a thought

Just make them. No big surprises to be expected.poughy wrote:What's the current recommendation for presets?
I think that Runciter shouldn't filter anything in default position, but I also think I know how to circumvent that in an elegant way. Otherwise no big changes expected, at least none that screw presets.
Yes. Each "rack effect" can be set to any Uhbik and load that ones presets.sinkmusic wrote:... And will Uhbik-X be able to load the presets from the "simpler" effects (so we can just load it and tweak with the modulation features and all the extra stuff) ?

Thanks
That may be an accidental Midilearn. Try to MidiUnlearn the knob.rouge wrote:Beautiful plugs Urs. Thanks for the generous price.... In, Reaper theres a bug in Runciter that causes the Res nob to reset to zero when song position is reset.

Bass Sanctuary excludes bass frequencies from the effect i.e. it remains untreated, it's still there in the dry part of the signal. Hmmm...maybe it could be boosted according to the relative volumes of wet/dry?xyzt wrote:So a Sanctuary is where stuff get hidden???![]()

Aha, so we are on the same track, when setting the Bass Sanctuary to high, it sounds like its more or less highpassing the signal and at the same time the bass is has less presence in the overall sound. But there are no more bass whooshes so that's a good thing...
What I was expecting was that the bass presence would stay the same. the thing is with the flanger you add presence to the high frequentie's so maybe there should be a make up gain control, or as you say a more automatic response in relation to wet/dry that would mean that when fully wet the gain boost of the bass would have to increase, but the overall level decreased, no?
Hope this help Urs...

Hi xyzt,
I know what you mean but I have decided against this, for one or two reasons.
One thing is, the volume drop of a 50/50 mix really depends on the input material. So, just boosting the dry bass on a good guess is not going to make things consistent. It may even be the case that due to the lack of phase concellations in the bass department, the bass is perceived as being louder with bass sanctuary than without. Depends on the material and the mix of course.
Another thing is, if we boost the bass (or even let it through) in a situation where the flanger or phaser is on a send bus (thus better going a 100% mix), a bass boost would lead to phase cancellations between dry signal and let-through bass and thus to a gap that's hard to come by.
Both problems can be met if an equalizer is used, i.e Uhbik-Q's Bottom. This way you can boost the clean bass from the flanger/phaser to match subjectively equal level.
I had considered an option to eq the bass, but refrained from it. The bass sanctuary is an advanced parameter that has its justification in avoiding weird cancellations/emphasize in the bottom department of individual channels. It's side effects which may be overall lack of bass can be come by with EQ. If bass sanctuary wasn't there, nothing could prevent unwanted effects afterwards...

I think I've found a bug (or undocumented feature if you prefer...
)
The Uhbik-plugs does not care that I have set up my mouse for left handed usage
So I keep getting this midi learn menu all the time.
Tested in Reaper 2.53
I'm probably going to by this just for the runciter. It got some real nice distortion in it.
Mmmmm Distortion.

That might very well be... I guess it's the same with all my other plugs? And that'd be on Windows?lazerkind wrote:The Uhbik-plugs does not care that I have set up my mouse for left handed usage

Hmmmm, interesting behavior in Sonar 7. I put some UHBIK on a mono vocal track and it does pass audio through, but adds a low-volume, intermittent crackle of sorts to the signal. I had read elsewhere that there was a bug that prevented UHBIK from working on mono tracks just yet, but of course I had to try it anyway. No biggie, I guess...for now, I can just put the UHBIK plugs on a stereo bus and route the vocals to it. As bugs go, this one can be worked around pretty easily for now.

Yep, on Windows XP and it does occur in Zebra 2.3 as well.Urs wrote: That might very well be... I guess it's the same with all my other plugs? And that'd be on Windows?

It's a demo. The periodic crackle is on purpose.Vectorman wrote:I put some UHBIK on a mono vocal track and it does pass audio through, but adds a low-volume, intermittent crackle of sorts to the signal.
