I tried to create a wizard-file for "Proteus VX" ... there is this free download at emu.com ... it works quite good ... but the Proteus can find its initial soundbank :-(
any hints? i found some registry-entries, but maybe I miss some?

it comes pre-installed unless something was changed by the user.

Installing Sample Tank into the PC, please follow the instructions in the FAQ page on www.smproaudio.com
We have not had any reports with issues to do with this, but if you get stuck I am happy to try and help you.
Errr...I formatted the V-Machine once...any tips on how I can reinstall SampleTank on it? Will I need a vfxinfo? :) Thank you!
Hi,

I would download the Image file which has all the DATA for the v-machine in it and put the image on a USB stick. Put the stick in the V and it will take you back to the original.

Just a note on this, the image file does come with a program which lets you make a boot stick but I find Roadkil Image stick easier program to use. It is about a 5 minute process to load all the plugs and sample tank back into the V-Machine, Any problem let me know.

Yes... other midi software seems to interfere with the communication as well, we will fix this shortly.

I would recommend to all users to use the SAVE to Stick feature of the 1212b software, save the presets or complete v-machine from the VFX application to a stick, you can hot swap now in 1212b, so no need to restart the machine each time.

Then while the v-machine is running, connect the USB stick to is and you can browse it and import the bank you want. The Stick banks have a [] around the name. click on Menu, left click and load the bank.

Hi.

My favorite plugs are.

-Korg Digital Edition.
-NI B4 II
-Scarbee C.E.P (great rhodes that runs trough Kontakt 2)
-Scarbee Vintage Keyboard FX (great FX for all sorts rhodes plugs)
-Ivory Pianos (or an other great piano).

Is the any chans to run all these plugs on my V-machine in the future?

Hello!

My Workspace has many hard disks, in fact the letter go up to "V". I wounder if lots of my problems (it takes almost hours to syncronize...) happen because the hard disk letter "P" used by the VMachine is already used by my system... ...who knows wether this is true or false?

Thank you,

Paulustus

It takes a very long time for me as well. I think it's a common problem.
I'm trying the new USB device method, maybe it's faster. The VFX application seems quite buggy to me.

I dunno if anyone noticed yet, but loading plugins via VFX takes 40 minutes for 30mb.
If you use the new "import from USB" method, it takes less then 5 seconds!

YAY!!!

I guess because it transfers data via MIDI SYSEX messages on the MIDI over USB port (you can monitor these messages with MIDI-OX).

AFAIK, the P: letter is only mounted internally, not on the host PC.

The P: letter points to both the internal SSD /plugs folder and the external USB /plugs folder when this is mounted, but should have nothing to do with your Windows PC.

Am I the only one having problems navigating presets via MIDI controller with the new firmware?
I can't choose the first one anymore, and I can't navigate between banks like I could with the older one.

Post

hello ala5t0r,

please can you describe SHORTLY how to import vst via usb-stick into the machine?
tomorrow i will try to control banks and presets via midi controller. which midi-messages works best?

thx for answers ...:)

You have to copy the "banks" and "plugs" directory from your
"C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\vfx\vmachine"
directory and paste them on a USB key. Plug the key on the V-Machine, wait till it tells you it reads it, navigate to the banks on the key (you'll recognize them because their name is inside [], like "[Bank 1]"). Now open the menu, navigate to the left and here is the IMPORT option! Takes 5 seconds!

I use standard program/bank changes from a M-Audio Axiom. They worked with the previous software.
