Hello!

Thanks Ziokiller for your infos!

I got B4 working by now and its a plessure to play it!

I'm really looking forward for a wizard file for a sampleplayer (but please not sampletank...)

mY FAVORITE would be Kontakt(3)!

I am willing to work for that, so if there is someone out there with advanced skills concerning REGISTRY settings please give me hints where I have to look for things needed to be involved in the wizard file... ...I downloaded REGSHOT, but I don't know exactely how to benifitely take some use out of it...

Isn't there someone whoe wants to post a tutorial "First Steps of programming a wizard file"?

Would be nice!

Greetings,

Paulustus

There will be... ;)
Hmmm...what a mysterious answer. Do you know more than I do?

@ Danny:

I think the MIDI controlled preset change is messed up. It worked fine on the previous firmware.

I have all my presets on a single bank for simplicity. I tried both scenarios.

-First scenario: using standard MIDI program changes.
It simply won't allow you to go to Bank 0 Preset 0. The V-Machine won't read the command.

-Second scenario: assigning a knob using the "leard preset knob" function.
It won't allow you to "jump" presets: for example, if you want to go from PRESET 0 to PRESET 4 directly, it will go from 0 to 1 instead, and then the knob stops working. It will only allow you to go by steps, 1 --> 2 --> 3 --> 4.
No jumps.

except some freeware-plugins with simple .dll's i've installed NI B4, Lounge Lizard 3 and edirol hq orchestral. tricky installation procedures, but now the plugins are running, and the v-machine is doing it's work perfectly. i'm loving it :-)
Hi!

I start loving it too, but at this time I want more than one Plug In running...
Can you give me some of you programmed wizard files and/or could you give me some hints of how do I know witch REG-Informations are needed and witch are not?

I hope I will work my way in this REGISTRY STUFF soon, too!

Best wishes,

I'm on a Mac using Logic 8.02 and would love to get my hands on this baby for two reasons:
1) able to use the oodles of seemingly cool Windows-only plugs, and
2) having an external unit do some of the heavy lifting instead of the Mac and/or Logic.

I've got a question I don't see answered here or on SMPro's site , or manual, hoping someone can answer me here:
and in fact I wonder the same about the Receptor:

I get it, a device that hosts VSTs and VSTi's. It's portable. Saves the wear and tear on you laptop (or tower if you're carting that around). BUT: only produces results in the audio realm.
Is there possibly a feature I don;t know about that maintains your rendered audio in the digital world, e.g. returns the audio to a track to Logic, Cubase, whatever? I'm just curious if this device (or the Receptor family) is truly ideal or not to do the heavy lifting as I say above. BUT maintaining it all in the pristine digital world.

I would hate to get this and rely on it for all performances... only to have to go into a roundabout bass-ackwards like this: use a virtual instrument hardware device to make sound through its audio outs; to my USB or FireWire audio interface ins; into my Mac host software (Logic) recording to an audio track... :?

Any thoughts? Get what I'm saying?
In a nutshell: can you send the audio back to the Mac (or PC) over the USB port, and/or using the VFX software?
If so, it does not explain that any where.
If not, that settles it, I'll have to keep listening to the Mac's little squirrels sweat and pant on the running wheel inside the box. :)

Mac users please keep posting here, I want to know how it's working for ya.
Otherwise if I go out and start performing more and decide on a portable box, then it's this baby vs. Receptor.
I might choose the 8-cylinder sports car over the Yaris, if you know what I'm sayin'. :D

If you use the new "import from USB" method, it takes less then 5 seconds!

YAY!!!
Grateful thanks for any help, I looked in the latest (2008 1212 build14) VFx software and also plugged my usb stick to the vmachine but I have not seen that option, where do you get that ??

Danny also mentioned a "Save To Stick" option on this forum, I have a 4 gig usb stick, have vfx and vmachine working now, can anyone please point me in the right direction ? idon't see any option off VFX to address the usb stick...

I copied the "plugs" and "banks" directories from my applications/vfx folder and I got dupes, two sets of sampletank, the ones on the machine, and the [] banks showing, I would like to only have additional imported plugs on the usb stick so i can use the internal Sampletank patches along with my own plugs on the stick, but for the life of me I have scoured the Faqs and this forum without finding anything definitive...

I would love to start having fun with this machine once I can load at least one new VST on my usb stick :-)

Are there any definitive tutorials on using the usb stick with V-Machine out there ??

In other words;

1-I wish to keep all the pre-installed VSTs on the internal drive of the V-Machine

2-and have additional VSTs such as Minimonsta or FM7 on the USB stick

I have tried both copying the /docs/application data/vfx plugs/banks directories to the usb key, and also just copying some VST DLLs to the root of the usb stick, either way I dont see the new VSTs on my V-Machine display, just the duplicated sampletank and the other pre-installed ones.........

Hi,

Both scenarios are known limitations of current firmware(perhaps new features). It doesn't obey the INC/DEC messages on learned presets, and doesn't "inc three times if you skip three".

ok, you don't need to change anything there.

If you are just using a USB stick, just have 2 directories on the stick
BANK (which has all the banks in it) and PLUGS (which has the plugin and plugin information on it)

MINIMOSTA is very simple, it works on a stick without any issues,

just copy the Bank and PLugs into the stick.

FM7.. it is NI, needs to be authorised to the hardware, so you need a Wizard file as well.

Please try Minimosta should not have any issues at all.
Just make sure you have 2 directories on the stick as per my instructions.

Danny

Tutorials on the way... YOUTUBE.. :D

Start your v-machine...

after it boots up, put your stick in.

It should detect it....

Now, navigate thru your Banks and then you will get to the Stick Banks (the names have a [] around them)

When you found the bank you want to import,

MENU (2 top buttons together)
Left Click (menu button left click)

You will see IMPORT BANK...

Let us know how you go..

Try something simple first
