You should run them fully "wet" on a bus. For some (Flanger, Tremolo) even Plugin Delay Compensation won't help much otherwise.

Effects that are typically used as an insert anyway:

- Uhbik-T, Tremolo/Haas doesn't make sense on a bus
- Uhbik-Q, low-latency eqs always cause phasing in parallel
- Runciter, IIR-filters naturally cause phasing in parallel

The other effects, Uhbik-A, Uhbik-F, Uhbik-D, Uhbik-P, Uhbik-S should be run 100% wet. Uhbik-S however might still be difficult as it will not be possible to get the same "dry" sound as from the insert after a reset.

Having a problem with latest UHBIK-F windows version crackling and fluttering (fully registered version).

Listen here.

It kinda of sounds like an old record effect which is cool but not always desirable.

This only happens when the time unit is set to 1/x all other intervils work perfectly!

Any ideas of why?

Thanks

Hmmm... can you send me a preset? Do you use external automation?

Post

No automation used at all.

I Sent the preset to your email ;)!

Thanks! There's a bug in the Flanger's AutoMix option. There must be some interpolation missing and it somehow clicks when stuff goes on standby during silent passages...

Gotta check this out and add corresponding options...
I don't know, I haven't tried to use the panner as a normal panner in this context. I will try this when I get home and report back.

The first midi track is empty and set to monitor inputs. The second midi track has Zebra and Uhbik D on it. As you can see the output of the first midi track is routed to Uhbik D on track 2. This way CCs from your controller gets routed past Zebra (which doesn't have a midi out or through for passing midi data to the other plug-ins in a chain) directly to the Uhbiks. :)
Cool! Can I use that for the manual? :D
Go right ahead!

I've had a couple of blasts of extremely loud noise when playing with uhbik-A in reaper which very nearly took my headphone wearing head off :-o :-o :-o, i think I was messing with the stereo width at the time. I'll only use them from the safety of behind a chair using one finger on the mouse now

(edit, oops maybe this should have gone in bug reports thread)

Hmmm... thought this WAS the bug report thread...

At any rate, I have to concurr with todd_r. I get some very loud "BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT"s too. In my case I'm using Uhbik-D feeding Uhbik-S on group track and when I pause Nuendo 4 with the space bar I get the "BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT", but not when I use the transport with the mouse. Weird.

I also get high frequency clicks when bypassing these effects. Monitors DOWN!! :-o

P: They don't work in my host

S: Your host probably dislikes multichannel stuff. Append "_2io" to the dll names, i.e. Uhbik-A_2io.dll - this will probably make the problem go away!

P: I can't get MIDI working

S: Please file complaint to your host developer - after making sure that the host really doesn't support MIDI input for effects!
another solution to both of these is to wrap the FX in a instance of energyXT.vst,

renaming the dll is easy but getting you hosts developer to add midi to FX might take a bit longer, :hihi:

a interesting idea would be if uhbik-X could load zebra2 (or even any vsti :o ) & come also in a vsti vershion

Whenever I add a Uhbik to an effect chain, I get a 10db drop. Is this normal?

Sounds a bit too much, regardless of Mix settings etc.

Does it happen when inserting Uhbik-Q?

I am also concerned about the level drop (about -3 to -5db in my case), the rest of my effect plugins behave normally.

It's easy to compensate... just gets tiresome boosting the effect gain every time an Uhbik is added.

(Windows XP, SP-3, FL Studio + Cantabile).

Well, I still suspect it's not all Uhbiks but maybe some, and it's probably due to the fact that I don't set them to Dry by default. The EQ for instance should not produce any level drop.

Exactly. An added gain knob would be handy like in the Runciter for A/Bing. Oh, how I love to A/B :hihi:

I'm getting 7-8db reduction on Q and much higher on others:
A=19, D=14, F=16, P=16, R=14, S=17, T=23

These are just rough numbers and like you said Urs, I'm sure the drop depends on the default preset...ie: the Tremolo is lower since it's modulating the amplitude.

Looks like I'm getting a more of a drop than other folks though...hmmm.

Curious.
