But, come on: who really needs an 11 GB Piano-sample on stage?
I don't. I'm just curious... :D "The One" from Sonic Synth 2 will do just fine for me. No streaming needed....

...very sensible... :D

Well, if you play in a Jazz-Trio (like I do), you should have the best sounding Piano that is available. But apart from the 11GB: I like to see it running on my V-Machine - no matter if it's 11GB or 11MB large!

Hi,

Glad I found this forum, after struggling 2 day's with my new vmachine.

My vmachine isn't recognized correct in the device manager of XP, even after uninstalling the device, XP still popups for find new hardware.
I cannot find a driver (or .inf) file on the installation cd's (is there one?)

So, I cannot use the software VFX Application to sync or update the firmware.

The software itself is working well (as far as I can test). I imported my TruePianos and B4 in the application, but it's not working from USB key

But first I've to solve the problem in the device manager, do you have any idea how?

I'm running VFX Application on a Notebook P4 3.06GHz, XPPRO SP3 2 G ram

Best regards,
Marco

im curious wwhether mfx midi plugins can be used, or if theres any plans for that kinda thing?

i use the midi plugin "chorder" in nuendo a lot, and i use some mfx plugins to route and control cc ranges. theyre fun.

VFXAU wrote:PianoTeq Demo 2.3 Wizard, it seems very hungry on CPU, we should all contact the vendor as I feel it can be made to run better.

The plugin will run more polyphony/notes if you disable the built in
reverb. By using a BANK you can use CHUNK support to disable the reverb.

How to reduce size: To reduce the size of this plug so it takes up less room you can delete the following...

The entire 'Pianoteq 2.3 Trial' folder can be deleted, it was left alone in case it helps users get the full version working.
Thanks for the wizard! I installed it and it works, eventhough I had to copy the needed files manualy (system32 and Program Files) why is that so? The path in the wizard file is correct...

Anyway: I can play the plug in but it is, as you mentioned, very hungry and in fact not seriously playable... I contacted Modart, but no answer yet...

So, I still have to wait to play a (good sounding) Piano on my vmachine...

Regards,

Paulustus

Did you try the MDA PIANO? some users said it is very good

Yes, planning to implement to allow you to have a MIDI Effect VST in a slot above a VSTi

Most likely in the next week you will get this:

When you click on the power button you will find another section called "Challenge Responce" (or something similar have not decided exactly which one).

You select IK from the List, enter your serial number and it will generate the IK "Digital ID" for your own V-Machine (same as what it would using a PC) this will then let you recieve your Authorisation code from the IK website to load into the V-Machine.

This may change slightly before release but this is the general procedure we are working on for Challenge responce. This process will also generate the proper wizard.

Now....

Currently IK is the first to do this.

oh thats so cool! theres a lot of midi plugins now and theres always more and a lot of them are quite good.

for the windsynth player ntonyx mfx kit 1 is nice for doing all sorts of tricks with controllers.

hopefully soon someone will do one like nuendos chorder but with some updated features, as it is now if i map the entire horn section parts and the singer wants to take it down a step i have to do a new map as theres no simple transpose everything down button. wah. i do love to play polyphonically!

Hi, your machine obvisouly has lost or not installed it's normal windows USB MIDI driver, it is ok, easy to solve.

Download from Windows support USB AUDIO DEVICE drivers and

1. let the computer auto detect the first device as a composite device.
2. force the detected vmachine to install the attached files as a 'usb audio device' under the heading 'generic usb devices'

Att: Danny;

Is there a way to upgrade the RAM on the V-Machine ? :(

Sure,

You can upgrade both the RAM and the FLASH as per the FAQ on the website.

It is not a simple 4 screws job, It requires some work to be done and may void the warranty.

ZioKiller wrote:I have a few questions about files_to_copy, dirs_to_copy and symlinks.

I'm trying to use Samplelord. It runs smooth (and is definitely a great sample player!). I've loaded a .gig file, saved my preset in the VFX app and now I want it to point to the directory where my .gig files are located which is D:\gigs\

I've moved the gig file in /plugs/samplelord/gigs/ on my USB stick and put a symlink in the wizard file:

symlinks:
...
D:/gigs:samplelord/gigs
...

This should link my local dir to the one on the usb stick, right?
When I load this preset, the V-Machine freezes.

What's wrong?
The symlink is written wrong the symlinks do not start with a '/'. The correct way is....

dirs_to_copy:
...
/Program Files/gigs
...
symlinks:
...
Program Files/gigs:samplelord/gigs
...

So try copying the gigs folder into c:\Program Files\gigs\ first and using the above code. It should work if you do it exactly as above.

Watch this youtube tutorial as it should answer a few questions.

I find it funny how you guys are all pretending like you know everything is gonna workout with this thing. After all its a great idea, but the truth sucks and that is that the v-machine is worthless. If all it can do is play these lame ass freebies and demo's it nothing but a pile of crap. I hate to say it. I wanted it to work out but its not gonna play the plug-ins I want or anything close to them and I'm not gonna sit there for 3-5 hours AGAIN programming/copying files to try and make it. This thing was made for the purpose of ease but its so difficult to use its not even worth it. I sent mine back. Thanks for the effort but at the end of the day this unit still doesn't do what I want.

It is fine to have your opinion, but to say worthless? I think that is going a little bit far... I am not here to argue with people, just to help if I can. Also I don't appreciate posting information which is not correct such as the V-Machine only playing FREEBIES AND DEMO's. I can see you are upset about the situation and the V-Machine will not be everything to everyone! but it does what it does VERY WELL>
