In my spare time I've been looking at PhotoShop tutorials and trying to imitate them in SkinMan/KnobMan. I found this tutorial on creating a light switch:

I tried recreating it in SkinMan:

I created the two shaded gradient by glueing two rectangles together, each with their own one shade gradient. I also added some texture to try to make it more interesting.

Granted you probably won't need a light switch on your GUI, but I thought that this was good practise.

Very nice, I did one too that turns 360° but I hesitate to use it, as knobs usally are 270° only.
But I like the way you placed ticks around it.

Thanks for the input guys! I am glad you liked it. You have encouraged me to make Version 2, with -140 to 140 radius instead of -180 to 180, plus some new extra stuff:

Hi Theo,

I saw you put metal circles in Layers 17 and 18.
I don't think lighting should turn with the knob, so I masked out Layer 18.
Hopefully, the one in Layer 17 is identical and is still

Think it's better like this, but it's my personal taste.

Here's two speaker models, a wooden one and a carbon fiber one, i used some textures for the wood and cello holes, the carbon fiber is two layers with H-Lines and V-Lines texture that comes with Knobman.

I still haven't finished them so here's just a preview pic of them:

I would like them to be connected to synthedit's out so you get an animation effect as the sound plays but i'm still trying to figure how to do that one properly. When i finish the .knob file i'll upload them!

You gotta dig the brand names

I did a speaker animation on a Reaktor ensemble I did several months back, good fun, I still get a kick out of it when I load it up. Its not CPU effective as it doesn't really do anything but pulse depending on the ampl etc etc go for it you will love it.

I made a static background image and I just made the speak pulsate to control image size. I don't remember how I did the pulsating effect. I think I might have photoshoped a gradiant over the image and clip it to the image bounds.

Ok guys! The Carbon edition animated speaker is ready.

The .knob file has 10 frames for convenience but you can change them to as many as you like. I kept the animation very discrete but it works nice in synthedit:
