[quote="appel"]I managed to get my Hammond plugin working without importing, which is just fine! Now I only need to run my GMedia M-Tron plugin and we are officially set for Sunday... :D Does anyone have any pointers as to how to set up the M-tron with flute.cpt? I own the older version which I bought a few years ago.

Here's the vfxinfo.txt file generated by the vfx application:

Code: Select all

id: 1297371726
dll_name: MTron/MTron.dll
name: M-Tron
is_synth: 1
parameter_count: 8
program_count: 1
has_editor: 1
editor_width: 816
editor_height: 244

Have a look at the other GFORCE Wizards, should'nt be much different to those.

If anyone would like to add more, please email them to me.

Thanks VFXAU, I really appreciate you helping me and all of us for that matter out in this topic!

It must be inserted in order for the IMPORT function to appear.
I managed to get that working, the import feature is there now. I assume the culprit was the filesystem of the USB key. I reformatted the stick to FAT32, chanted some praises and the plugins appeared!

I've had a look at those wizards before, but it looked like they were just a little too different after all. For example, the M-Tron has external soundbanks, as far as I know the other plugins don't. And I couldn't find as much references in the registry to the M-Tron plugin as the others had. Will check it out again today though.

Thanks again!

edit: the M-tron is almost working in my vfx application! However, when I play a sound I get the following error message:

Code: Select all

Assertion Failed!
ERROR NTL391
smproaudio.com/faq
I read somewhere in this topic that this might have something to do with a challenge response code, but this plugin doesn't have any. It just works.

Don't get it, the import function is still invisible for me, Not with a Fat32 formatted key, and working files on it, neither when placed in slot and restart the vmachine.

Any suggestions welcome

When you initially installed the plugin, where was the sound bank installed?

Normally with many of these plugins they are installed in the same directory as the DLL was. So if that is the case, then copy this directory (the samples) over to where the VFX application imported and stored the DLL into as well. (Plugs Directory)

NTL error is VST HOST CONTROLLER ERROR

Did you test the plugin in another host as yet?

Hi, The V-Machine needs to be running before you put the USB stick in, do you have BANKS and PLUGS directory on the stick? What Firmware Version are you running?

Here's what I did, perhaps it helps. I've copied the banks and plugs folder over from C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\vfx\vmachine\ to the root of my FAT32 formatted key. I make sure all USB connections are unplugged from the V-Machine (including the one connecting it to my computer). I switch on the V-machine and wait till it's fully loaded. Then I plug in the USB key. After it is recognized by the V-machine ("USB Device found" or something along those lines) I navigate right with the > menu button, and in my scenario this makes the plugins appear! After that if you want to import them instead of just running them off the USB key you can enter the menu by simultaneously pressing both menu buttons <> and navigate left. You should then encounter the import menu.

Let me know if that works for you.

The soundbanks reside in a subdirectory called 'M-Tron'. If I load the M-tron in VFX the soundbanks do appear in the VSTi GUI, so it seems the .dll is able to find the banks. It's only after I try and play a sound on the virtual keyboard of the gui that the error appears. After that VFX quits.

Hello

It seems there are some functions missing on my V-machine and VFX software. On the V-machine I cannot select mastervolume and CPU meter etc. (Display is available as my fist menu option).
On the VFX-software the menubar (with file, view, tools, help) is missing and there is no options/preferences available. I updated the V-machine to the latest firmware.

Another thing that is missing but really should be there is a transpose/detune funtion for each channel. This makes the V-machine unusable for working with splits/layered sounds. Please make it available (4 octaves of transpose should be fine).

What about pluginns that uses an installer. Is that a matter of install it into my DAW, import the dll in the VFX software and edit the vfxinfo.txt for reg settings and things?

Yes, the V-machine runs before I put the stick in and I've the latest firnmware, banks and plugs are on the key

You both, thanks for the clear instructions, it almost works. I can enter the Import function but, with banks and plugs on my usbkey, on every 'Sample Tank'I got the message:

Couldn't find Dll

Although the dll's are in the 'plugs'subdir's

Hm, afraid I can't help you there. I'm already glad I can use the plugins of the USB key. Does that work? And are you sure it's not an 'old' bank? I formatted my V-machine prior to the usb key operation just to rule that out. That would of course wipe out SampleTank, but that's OK with me, as I have no use for it.

Nope, they don't run from key

Can you list the contents of your stick here? Perhaps there's something fishy with the file structure.

That's what I thought, I changed the dir structure on the usbkey from:

plugs
banks

to:

plugs > banks (just copied the banks dir in the plugs dir)

And the Dll error was gone, I can now play from USBkey.....but with that action the import function is not available anymore..;-(

A little step forward..

Weird. Here's mine:

Code: Select all

banks
- 000_Hammond
-- 000_Hammond
--- channel_1_slot_a_1110717011.chunk
--- preset.vfx
plugs
- Hammond
-- Hammond
-- hammond.dll
-- vfxinfo.txt
I can play from the key and have the import function available.
