Hi, The V-Machine needs to be running before you put the USB stick in, do you have BANKS and PLUGS directory on the stick? What Firmware Version are you running?
Yes, the V-machine runs before I put the stick in and I've the latest firnmware, banks and plugs are on the key

You both, thanks for the clear instructions, it almost works. I can enter the Import function but, with banks and plugs on my usbkey, on every 'Sample Tank'I got the message:

Couldn't find Dll

Although the dll's are in the 'plugs'subdir's

Hi, Have you Re-Formated your V-Machine? it is empty now?
You did not mention this previously, I am just wondering as you are saying the SAMPLE TANK saybe Cannot Find DLL

It seems there are some functions missing on my V-machine and VFX software. On the V-machine I cannot select mastervolume and CPU meter etc. (Display is available as my fist menu option).
On the VFX-software the menubar (with file, view, tools, help) is missing and there is no options/preferences available. I updated the V-machine to the latest firmware.

Another thing that is missing but really should be there is a transpose/detune funtion for each channel. This makes the V-machine unusable for working with splits/layered sounds. Please make it available (4 octaves of transpose should be fine).

What about pluginns that uses an installer. Is that a matter of install it into my DAW, import the dll in the VFX software and edit the vfxinfo.txt for reg settings and things?

Hi,

i have no luck to get CS-80V demo plugin working in V-machine,from USB key or sync from VFX software, i've downloaded the wizard file vfxinfo.txt file from sm website and followed every step in wizard.pdf carefully. First i open the plugin dll in VFX app, and when opening the vfxinfo file i get "ERROR FUT481" and the aplication crashes, when loading from USB key i have made a system32 folder with the ArtFfct.dll according to the vfxinfo.txt file. I have try this procedure on 2 computers one with XP and the other Vista, latest vfx software and firmware on V-machine.

anyone else experience this problem?

The CPU meter is shown constatnly, you don't need to access it in any way,
The Master Volume is per preset, so when a preset is loaded you click the PARMETER BUTTON (this is the one which has <> learn written on it) once to the left.

You will find many of the sample Tank Levels are low, this is not because of the master volume but because of the SAMPLE TANK volume, you wil get better performance the S/N ration if you increase this volume, PARAMETER button, it's about the third parameter to the right, CHANNEL 1 Volume, all the sample tank presets are set on 64, you can easily increase to 100.

I don't really understand why you cannot see the menu etc in your application unless your screen resolution is low in windows, what screen resolution are you running?

FUT error is a FILE SYSTEM ERROR, normally means it cannot find a file you are trying to tell the application to load, check that any file you have pointed to actually does exist. I did not test this myself but I will ask some users who have for you.

Hello VFXAU

I found all the functions on the V-machine so that works properly.

My VFX-application don't show the Windows menu-bar, no matter what screen resolution I use. It's there on the picture in the quick start guide (page 6) but it's not on the picture on your website so i'm not shure if it supposed to be there.

So the only thing that is missing is options/preferences (when I press the orange button)

Can you please give me a reply about the transpose/detune funtion. Is that gonna be implemented?

I found out most of the freeware pluginns are working but i'm a bit disappointed about the processingpower of the V-machine because a lot pluginns easily exceeds 60% processing power. That don't leave much room to combine vsti's and using effects.

Hi,

Yes Vmachine is formated, I exported in VFX Application, the Vmachine to stick.
On the stick I have the dirs: bank and plugs.
It looks like a copie of C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\vfx\vmachine

I put the stick in Vmachine and it give the message: 'Cannot Find Dll'

So, if there is a sollution to get the vmachine in the original state, please let me hear

p.s I have a workaround but that's not the way how it should be

Hi,

I was wondering if someone did a try on TruePianos?
In Xp > Configuration Panel > Sofware, I see that every module (Amber/Diamond/Emerald/Sapphire, has a size of 479.00Mb

Isn't that too big for vmachine?

Marco

I tried.
Unfortunately the V isn't powerful enough to run all these modern piano plugins with an acceptable polyphony. You can only reach 7-8 notes, not even 64 or 32!

The only hope to have a nice piano sound on the V is to use a very light sample player (like SampleLord) and load some good piano GIG or Kontakt or SoundFont (which I'm still after...)

Post

ZioKiller, I agree, the VMachine insn't powerful for some plug ins. But if you could upgrade the hardware, that would probably solve the problem...

The Question is: How?

- Which type of memory is used, how can I upgrade?
- Can I upgrade the CPU as well?

RAM is really cheep, and CPU's too, so I want to tune my VMachine, and then,
hopefully it will play Pianoteq and others...

> I still love this machine, and for that money it brings lots of features, but there are many people like me searching for a good piano (mda is good, but not for a classical pianist...)
