yeeeks... I have no idea who this person is :-)

and sadly (to my defence :-) ) some facts I was given were not in the end what was released for many reasons. (although the engineers added many many extra functions which were not even in the unit then so it sort of balances out I suppose). Main thing was the VM (virtual machine) which I wanted on the PC and MAC(this actually lets you properly test the plugin for the V in both PC and MAC, on the MAC release this is acutally the fact but on the PC since windows was already there it was not the way it was done. Maybe in future this will change.

We keep pushing the development team and I think the current release 1219 is nearly there. What is being worked on now is Syncrosoft support as well as more automated plugin loading systems.

My job here besides support is to keep pushing development with user ideas, requests, bugs etc.. and on the other hand if you can push vendors as well then things will move faster in any case.

Happy New Year.

Danny

Wow, sounds like a great feature. Right now our piano guy took the V-machine home, so a VM would really come in handy. Hopefully you'll get 'em to work on that someday...

Just curious, did you have a chance to ask about open sourcing (parts of) the V-Machine yet?

Post

I need some functions as:

- fast way to navigate in banks.
- Save as function with v-machine without computer.
- abort loading for huge pluggings.
- transpose function
- how to navigate for vts presets (as example, i load a piano plugging and one reverb plugging, i want to navigate in reverb's presets)
- how to set the order in parameter list.

The v-machine is a great machine, with light and free pluggings is a complete studio. I have plugged my guitar today with juicy and another pluggings and worked well.

Can i load amplitube or similar?

Yes sure, I think some time in the next few weeks I will be able to post about this as well. Not so much OPEN SOURCE but a way of puting others firmware etc into the V-machine and possibly an SDK for communicating with the LCD Buttons USB etc.

Awesome, looking forward to it! Thanks, Danny!

Couple of these I can help you with,
1.- how to navigate for vts presets (as example, i load a piano plugging and one reverb plugging, i want to navigate in reverb's presets)

The first Parameter on the V-Machine's screen is PATCH for the first plugin (say the piano) if you go to the next parameter it is PATCH for the next plugin (the Reverb) and you can change it's presets there without changing the presets of the piano.

If you mean switching between banks quickly without loading them, this is currently implemented but we are also adding HOLD DOWN and scroll thru these king of parameters.

Abort loading.. ok.. I can ask

Transpose, in fact this one comes up often, you know you can assign a controller to the transpose funcation of the plugin, so you can get by most of the time with this, although I do understand what you mean so it is on the list.

Explain.. save as function?

Parameter list order is done on the PC side in Grid view, click on the priorty you want the parameters to have.

I need transpose for make layers in my keyboard (CME UF6). I can make two layers and transpose them, but i want to make the same in my second keyboard.

I want to save presets with new parameters. I am using organized trio, move drawars and want to save this preset in a new location without computer.

Parameters have priority but not order... or yes?

For the second request what I would do at the moment is create 2 presets in a bank for your Organized Trio, one is the original, the other you can edit the parameters with your controllers and hit SAVE this will be the one with your own edits. you can create several presets like this.

I assume you mean VST instrument vendors, I guess my question would be which ones has SM Pro "not" contacted yet ?? there are SO MANY players out there, maybe we should start from the very popular ones, or at least look at which commercial plugins current V-Machine owners need support with ? IMHO, no one should waste time supporting demo versions of plugins, if there was a way of determining which ones are the most popular(hmm), then we could start there, there are just so many out there.... Monumental task, I know, but we have to start somewhere, withour plugin support there is not much you can do with the v-machine??

some very popular vendors:
IK
NI
Arturia
Big Tick(Rhino)
Camel
Image Line(Fruity Loops)
NUSofting + DashSignature
Algo Music

Many of the above also have active forums here, but where to start ???

Well, you can start (as I did) with a simple e-mail to those vendors.

I received this answer from George Yohng (TruePianos)

We are trying to contact SM Pro Audio to receive some developmentversions of V-Machine. According to some other user tests, V-Machinedoes not seem to be powerful enough to run TruePianos, but we will testthis, and if there is a possibility to make it run - a package will beprovided.

Thanks,George

VFXAU wrote: Hi,

I would download the Image file which has all the DATA for the v-machine in it and put the image on a USB stick. Put the stick in the V and it will take you back to the original.

Just a note on this, the image file does come with a program which lets you make a boot stick but I find Roadkil Image stick easier program to use. It is about a 5 minute process to load all the plugs and sample tank back into the V-Machine, Any problem let me know.

Danny
Hi Danny where can I download this image file that has all the DATA for V machine? I would like to restore my V machine this way. Thank you,

JJ

Some idea's

-Since it is possible to have much vst and vsti's on the v-machine, a menu structure inside the plugins folder would be handy (eg. synths, piano's, reverb, delay) for easier acces.

-A lot vsti's don't have a transposefunction so it really should bew there on the v-machine. At least 4 octaves. 6 would be perfect.

-It seems there is no way to save a patch to it's fxb-file. inside the VFX-application. Most DAW's have dedicated knobs for it.
It is possible to make presets but you can't load, for example the reverb settings of one preset into another (you can only copy the complete preset). So as I see it, you can't save a new-created reverb patch so you can use it into another preset. (not the best way to say it but I hope you understand what I mean)

-The possibility to edit automation settings in the VFX application

-I really hope the processor is upgradable because this one just is not strong enough to make complex splits and layers.
